With Trump in office the Fed is no longer interested in causing and propping up bubbles

The Fed is waiting until Trump stops seesawing the tariffs. We really haven't gone 2 days without a major adjustment. I don't see that changing for several months.

You can't set monetary policy in the uncertainty this administration is purposefully seeking.
Powell is going to do nothing until this settles. The wealthy and large finance firms are going to continue to be hesitant about putting money into the markets until the uncertainty stops.
That's the reality of the situation and it won't change until the policy positions of the administration have necessary solidification to form clarity.

Like the uncertainty of war during Biden’s term when they propped up the stock market to help Kamala??? That kind of uncertainty.
McGrath is a retard goes without saying. But you are either disingenuous or like him. Which is it?

Looks like we might see a bluff called on "who's too big to fail" !
The fed never tried to intervene for Main Street, let's see if they intervene for Wall Street.

No...You are talking nonsense. Right before the election when Inflation was higher the Fed dropped the interest rates 50bps. There was plenty of uncertainty then but they cut anyway to try and help goose the markets before the election.

Good. The Fed needs to be ended. It’s like a fricking drug cartel with unfettered power and supply to our monetary system.

Powell would never thing to do this with dem admin because violence would happen.

They lowered it because it had been trending down, right? If you think a banker, appointed by Trump, has it out for Trump then you're just completely in the Trump Reality Distortion Field again. As per usual with most of y'all on this site.

You are a fricking clown. Conveniently...50 bps rate cut - 48 days ahead of a Presidential election is a first in 75 yrs....

Yes, Powell definitely wanted the opposition party of the one who appointed him to office to win. Bozo.

As for the market, I am sure it will go up when Trump makes another move, then go down when he immediately counters it. Exactly why the Fed isn't doing anything right now.
But hey, why do we need the Fed to do anything if Trump is making deals with 70+ countries and totally owning China?

Good point. The 75 countries is indisputable. We will have to see what happens with China. I like our chances.
