Other than Constitutional/legal matters, I think most posters here are pretty well-informed. I don't think it's usually a function of ignorance or stupidity.
Maybe it's WHY people come here? In my real life, almost all of my friends and acquaintances share my Christian/Constitutional/Conservative world view. Because it's interactive, this is one of the few places I can discuss opposing perspectives. I enjoy that when it happens.
Maybe the people who swarm you come here for comfort and to reassure themselves that they're right. To them, you're a horrible person because you challenge their comfort.
