A Portland, Oregon, clothing shop permanently shut down this month after facing a string of break-ins that has left the store financially gutted, according to a note posted to the front of the store.

"Our city is in peril," a printed note posted on Rains PDX store reads, according to KATU2. "Small businesses (and large) cannot sustain doing business, in our city’s current state. We have no protection, or recourse, against the criminal behavior that goes unpunished. Do not be fooled into thinking that insurance companies cover losses. We have sustained 15 break-ins … we have not received any financial reimbursement since the 3rd."

The store’s owner Marcy Landolfo said that after 15 break-ins over the last year and a half, the business can’t survive the financial burdens the crimes have cost the shop.

"The problem is, as small businesses, we cannot sustain those types of losses and stay in business. I won’t even go into the numbers of how much has been out of pocket," she said.

Chances Marcy has ever, to date, voted for ANYONE who ever campaigned hard on cracking down on stuff like this or basically anyone who doesn’t adhere lockstep to the leftist party line?

100%

She did this to herself whether she realizes it or not. Zero sympathy from me.

Once I find out who specifically Marcy has voted for while living in Portland then I will be able to better comment on this story.

Woohoo, the plan is coming together. War on small businesses is working. And most of the dumb f$^& in this country think big box stores staying open during the plandemic was not part of a nefarious plan. Who can survive the crime wave better, big business or small businesses owners?

The left is using their foot soldiers (criminals) to wage war against the people.

Stop whining; you’ve got insurance.

Well there’s your problem! Maybe you’d have more money if you stopped paying insurance premiums after the third break-in.

Same thing is happening in Seattle with businesses moving. Most I read are moving to Bellevue which is close to Seattle but way more ritzy and less street people.

and probably a huge deductible every time they make a claim and I imagine the insurance and deductible keep going too with all these claims. Not cheap.

After the recent Thanksgiving shootings and/or violence at the Mall of Louisiana here in BR hundreds of citizens have voiced that they will never return to the MOL. Not a good sign.

This is the most Racist move that any clothing store that I've ever heard of has ever done.

CLEARLY this is a "dog whistle" excuse by this racist business - a PRETEXT for the real reason for closing, which is that they hate Queers and People of Color.

I will never shop there again.

Portland is going to become a clothing desert and they will blame me for it.

Bellevue PD and their mayor will not allow riff raff messing with the $$$.

Probably true, but my interest in the story is not so much about her, but about the dramatic decline of a once great city.

And of course, as your post implies, almost no one on the Left will connect the dots between their policies and the ruination of Portland
