Yes. This is what we do here. Doubt? Of course, for understanding brings strength of faith.

So, heterosexuality is a sin?

As Zach said above - you appear to judge the sex act and not the desire.

Is BEING a hetero sinful? Or, just the act of sex outside of marriage?

Nothing quite like a PoliBoard religious thread to make you understand how folks come up with such horribly reasoned positions on the non-religious issues...it's illuminating.

I’d use Romans which proves it’s still true with the New Covenant because Leviticus also says some things that don’t ring true anymore.

I just find it interesting that Homosexuality is the one thing that people get overly upset about. Few people get upset about not loving others well, never letting unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, sex with a significant other of the opposite sex before marriage or even things like jealousy.

They’re all sin, but how do we approach that in a way that doesn’t put off nonbelievers while still making sure we hold true what the Bible actually says.

She also said this:
quote:

I just say read the Bible and find out for yourself. And when you find out let me know, because I'm learning, too."

That’s a fine stance.

By loving the person and not the sin. That's how.

This isn't a pooh post (though you might take it as that).

But you really think she has a good voice?

Look I am past 50. I guess my formative years were in the 70's.

I just listened to two of her songs. I don't think she could have had a professional career pre-1980. She just has no voice talent.

Look there are some modern performers with great voices. Anyone from Post Modern Jukebox for example.

But this woman - there's nothing there. It's like they used autotune and that was all they got?

This is a great voice, whether the artist sucked dicks or not:

I actually think a lot of the women from Post Modern Jukebox could do the same level of performance on a song.

But this Lauren Daigle - it's not that she isn't in the same ballpark. She can't even see the ballpark from where she is.

I often wondered why nobody ever brought up banning divorce when we were protecting the sanctity of marriage.

Where did "adultery" come from? I thought she said homosexuality.

The Bible is as clear about homosexuality being a sin as it is adultery, but no one disputes that cheating on your spouse is a sin. Daigle is substituting political correctness for biblical word.

Dawg, I think the answer lies in the fact that there is a concerted effort to have that one sin nullified.

There is no debate about the sinfulness of lying, cheating, stealing, adultery, etc. There is debate about homosexuality and homosexual acts.

The gays don't want to be told that what they do is sinful, and, in fact, many want the church to approve and glorify what they do.

That's where the pushback comes into play from from traditional Christians.

it's really mind blowing how much Christians lose their shite over homosexuality. I think gay sex with man or woman is sin. so is the fact that i struggle with lust... or overeating... or pride... or selfishness... or anger in the car over bad drivers... or... whatever.

If you're a christian, they are all what separates you from Christ no matter how big or small. To act like somebody who has homosexual sex is worse than somebody sleeping with somebody that you're not married to or cheating your taxes, or being racist is asinine.

But so is trying to say this thing that is very clearly laid out as sin in the Old Testament and New isn't sin.

I agree the church has made too much of homosexuality, but to backtrack and say it's not sin isn't the right answer.

I don't understand.

First of all, who is this Malek person?

Second of all:
quote:

Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman

I have sexual relations with a woman by putting it right in the pussy. If two men have buttsecks with each other, they are not having sexual relations with each other as they would with a woman. So it appears that doesn't really address the issue of whether or not homosex is a sin.

Additionally, oral sex is sodomy.

I think the take-away from all this is that it's not a good idea to turn to the bible for sex education.

Some Christian denominations think makeup is sin, divorce is sin, clergy can / cannot marry, speak in tongues vs not, etc.

It seems healthy to be able to discuss it in a reasonable way without "judging" the 'belief' nor the 'sinner'.

You are, by far, the most reasonable "common sense" poster on this board.
