I grew up Protestant, flirted with atheism until I read and understood Aquinas.
But, even with Catholics claiming Aquinas as their own, I'd NEVER join today's modern church, because the Pope has abandoned Aquinas as well as the Bible itself.
I'd join the Catholic Church were it not for this Pope. Priests should know this.
