Midterms are almost always a referendum on the economy and the President.
If he's polling that poorly Dems will take back at least the Senate or House. Trump will then spend two years fighting impeachment instead of getting things done.
The next election, since its pretty much without question that Vance will get the nomination, will be a referendum on Trump as well.
Baris and Mitchell are about as big of Trump cheerleaders as you can find. If they are sounding the alarm, it means they think there is plenty of time to course correct but it has to begin soon

Extremely reasonable post here.
But Trump needs to make a splash now and in the coming months. Immigration was a huge issue that propelled him to the White House and I say make immigration an issue going into the midterms. Fight over H1B visas. Piss off Elon and the rest the other cheap labor oligarchs and the MAGA base will fight with Trump again.

How can you course correct when Trump said yesterday it’s the greatest economy in history and that the polls are fake. He’s getting bad advice

How many "true independents" are there in the country? 5?

That’s why I said Susie Wiles is Trump’s Brutus.

It's always about money. The young folks voted for Trump to make them all rich with the way he talked. That's not happening so they will go towards the likes of the "everything is free" guy in New York.

Dude there's like 6 ride or die MAGA originals (including me) who are openly chastising Trump on this board for being a neocon loser.
Were in our 40s.
Of COURSE guys in their 20s and 30s are turning on Trump if we are.

Yes he is setting up for MAGA - he is negotiating peace deals and economic deals around the world to help the future of America. When the world is not in chaos like it has been the past 4 years, America prospers and dominates the world.

It's almost as if being Israel's bitch and marching us towards new regime change wars in countries that don't affect us is unpopular with his base.
Eta: his free thinking base at least. There is a small % that will sycophantly follow him in the void.

Trump's base is still 100% on the Trump train.
This is about the economy. It is not as good as it seems. The tariff issue is killing him. The GOP will get hammered with tariff price hike commercials before the mid terms.

And his tariffs are hurting people here.
He needs to get his head out of his arse and focus on what he promised his loyalists.

I listened to a few victor davis Hanson podcasts recently and he breaks down why this narrative (we do everything on behalf of Israel) is false and the neocons acted on their own accord.

Yep....It's almost like tariffs function like an actual tax, stifling economic growth rather than being magic money that allows us to eliminate the income tax, refinance our debt, and pay dividends to the poors.

It is tooooooooooo bad we don't have quantitative easing as was done for Big Mike and Barry so we can call it a great economy.
