In terms of life expectancy, I’m about halfway through this wild ride. Unfortunately, I have a 3 year old to help navigate through this mess of a world. Sometimes red wins, sometimes it loses, ditto for blue. I’m hoping that when I continue to wake up, the sun rises and life is good. The influx of people into my state with different values was thrown into overdrive by a R governor. I can also say that for whatever other issues I have that are somewhat local.
As I’ve aged, I’ve seen acquaintances become die hard blue. Rarely do I see them flip the other way. Not sure what sort of PR attack Republicans need now, but Democrats figured it out this go round.
I’m nervous. Texas isn’t what it was when I was a kid, and isn’t what it was when I moved back about 17 years ago. I also can’t uproot, as that means leaving my daughter.
I can handle a “loss” with grace, but that doesn’t mean I’m not worried for her future. Is there anyway some common sense will prevail? Is there any way some of these Democrats govern admirably? Or is there any hope they screw their party the way we have been for the last several years?
Please tell me we make it through this.

Worried for my kids too... I think we all are. These people are unhinged they are maniacs. They have very strange beliefs. I don't know a path where I see my future where i'm not scared for my kids.

I think there’s reason to be worried. I’m not exactly ready to run to the store for toilet paper, but I’m a white, Christian male from a middle class family. I also have a mortgage. I’m not exactly a protected class.

Well, tonight is obviously bad but it's not the end of the world yet.
But next time if the Democrats get the presidency and Congress, they'll add Puerto Rico and DC as states and pack the court. Millions of 3rd Worlders will pour in and the Constitution means whatever a bunch of Ketanji Jackson clones say it means and the GOP is a permanent minority party.

Man y’all chill out. The world will still spin tomorrow.
Some battles you lose. The war is still on.

Dude you guys are the biggest b******. For a grown arse man to post this f****** garbage, and for people who talk about the left being snowflakes, throwing around the word cuck throwing around the word beta, this is f****** pathetic and disgusting.

And, yes, you'll be ok. In 24 the dems were doing autopsies on their party. Then Trump stepped on his own dick and they've fixed it? Nah. Just midterms.

I'm concerned because this isn't like Clinton, Obama, even Biden democrats. Those that won have told us how they truly feel about us Republicans, Christians, Gun owners, Jewish, etc. They've told us what and who they support and what they intend to do with our country. Texas will now become California and NY, it will be a sanctuary city and there will be no protection from the illegals and terrorists. I'm willing to admit that Trump and party made huge & very costly votes, but they are essentially our last and only defense.

It’ll pass. Your life will go on largely unaffected.
That said, things will continue to get more dysfunctional from here, as they have been already. What you want back won’t ever come back.
Just being honest.
