The military is in business of killing people and breaking things. They need commanders who have that mentality and speak freely. I like this.
As far as the DUI goes, our military won wars with men who would get drunk and hit on women while on pass and then get back to killing bad guys. I want our military a little dirty with blood in their teeth. Somewhere along the way we got into nation building and tried to turn soldiers into ambassadors. Nope, let's make them gritty, straight talking killing machines again who only go to war when we want to win that war.

I'm curious what the actual implementation of this looks like. At surface level Petey delivered a good statement. But what I heard in there is people retaliating from bad performance reviews as an example. Which I'm sure happens. I'm also sure that managers give bad performance reviews based on other reasons as well, and not even necessarily bad but just enough to prevent raises and promotion.

i dont know what the specifics of the policy will be or how they will effectively implement it, but i will say that just hearing the SecDef speaking out loud about what many of us have been experiencing for many years is very refreshing. this is such a huge problem and it absolutely has to be addressed.

As long as you only have one. More than one and you should never drive a vehicle again.
