Any suggestion of wearing a mask on this board is treated like blasphemy.

What is the difference if a bunch of wearers contract the virus or a bunch of wearers give it to someone else?

the question is the difference in mechanics of those 2 things

Ill wear a mask when you put it on my corpse.

Go ahead and try it.

Try to take the rights granted upon me by my Creator.

Try to steal the freedom given to me by God.

Go ahead soy boy.

Make my day.

I agree. Tying the mandate to a fine was a stupid approach. Tying it to return to Phase 1 would have been the better approach. People would still bitch but it gives the businesses the cover to enforce by saying, “I hear ya but the govt is making me do it”.

Attach this to a fine was idiotic bc most people are smart enough to realize A) Police had no intention to enforce bc it would be a logistical nightmare and it would probably take up a substantial amount of their valuable time and B) if someone was fined, there is an extremely good chance it would be thrown out in a court of law

I don’t wear a mask because I’m afraid of dying of COVID. I wear it because it’s been proven by Japan to work. The sooner we just get on board the sooner the fear porn liberals love will die out and we can get the economy cooking again.

Are Japan's numbers because of masks or are there other factors at play that we are falsely attributing to mask wearing?

Aren't all the asian countries pretty low on cases and deaths? Hasn't there also been early indicators of some increased immunity to sars cov 2 for those that have been more exposed to sars cov 1? I thought I had seen that somewhere. Trying to find it again.

Only masks in SE Asia reduce the spread of viruses. In the US, mask wearing cause mass hysteria, hyperventilation and being called a Marxist.

rollrollIronically, the best largely available “mask” was three paper towels folded in half (6 layers total). That had a efficacy rate of 80%.

Tokyo has 8,600 total cases in a MASSIVE city. I don’t think COVID is the bogey man nor the plague. However I realize if we all just wear a mask and wash our hands this shite would be so dead

Correlation does not = causation

What you assume to be true seems logical. Japan is a tidy, clean place by in large.

However, Japan has dealt with similar viral contagions before. And yes, that means that they are schooled in the art of cleanliness. However, it also means that their immune may be better equipped to deal with COVID. My guess is that it is both. Lastly, the mass distribution of masks doesn’t hurt.

I say ROLL with it...pun intended.

Right, but fastening a disgusting mask to your face all day can damage the wearer. You missed my point.

oh it's extreme. i'm not debating that

the problem is i don't think anti-mask people want to honestly admit the extreme situation CV-19 is

How about this tradeoff: anyone who tests positive should wear a mask. Everyone else doesn't have to. And if you say, what about the millions of asymptomatic carriers...if there are really that many, then the virus isn't that dangerous, is it?

Because nothing is 100%. The mask is just an additional low-cost barrier like social distancing. It's not a magic force field. It's not a magic bullet. But it's something until we can get better barriers.

It is a really bad flu strain with an asymmetrical risk profile, skewed significantly towards the elderly and very sick.

"Extreme" is only true because of the global hype and transparent power/liberty grab it has fostered.

I don't think the "pro mask" cohort is even remotely admitting these demonstrable, provable facts.

In the over 1 month period since California implemented the mask mandate, cases/day have tripled.

So, you have to concede:

1. The data is bullshite, ergo masks are bullshite, OR

2. Masks tripled the cases per day in California

I'm not seeing a third option.

I know you did not say this Slow, but I do agree with you. Christianity is still a huge cult.
In the Book of Acts, depending on which version/translation, the early church was referred to as a sect or cult, even called a heresy in a translation or two.

Bible Hub - Acts 24:14 ... the Way, which they call a sect/cult/heresy, ...
