I miss him

Imagine all the times Pence's butt cheeks tightened grasping his pearls-- being around Trump.

Such a fake...

Putting small businesses out of business is just further moving us along to being totally controlled by the Oligarchs.

Only twenty percent of small businesses have employees, and many of those are hedge funds, law firms, doctor's offices, etc. Some small businesses can have up to 1,500 employees depending on the sector. But everyone assumes small business means a yarn store run by your grandma.

In other words, she doesn't want to pass a relief bill.

It won’t pass the Senate and she knows that. It’s all a big game.

Didn't the House already send a bill to the Senate that included the $15 min wage. Then the Senate changes a bunch of items, including removing the min wage, and kicked it bac to the House. So, now the House is going to reintroduce items the Senate already rejected. Sounds logical

The problem I have with this, is we bring minimum wage up to 15 bucks an hour. Say someone with minimal skill now makes 15, essentially what someone with actual skills already make. Now as a small business owner, how can I justify someone with no skills making 15 an hour and paying my skilled employee the same? I can’t, so essentially I’ll have to raise my skilled employee the same level the minimum wage worker just increased. My current 15 an hour employee now goes to over $22 an hour. That is insane and is going to cost my customers and clients to have increases on their services.

Oh what the hell. Why not make it $25/hour? Do I hear $47.63?

Why not $158.34?

Let's just give everyone $1 million/month and tell them to stay home. frick it.

This isn't what will happen. Skilled workers will take the jobs from the unskilled workers because they provide more value for the cost. This will price unskilled workers out of the market, creating a never-ending welfare class.

And that’s exactly what they want. They know what they’re doing.

So if the minimum wage gets struck down do they have to go back and do the whole thing over? Would Nancy and the Dems really delay it even further because of this insane minimum wage bullshite that even a lot of Dems know would be a disaster?

Got a link for that 20%? Regardless, when Granny's yarn store closes up, she and it's two part time workers can start claiming government checks. Mission accomplished.

A poison pill.... This is a reconciliation bill in both chambers hoss....The democrats can take their poison and vote the bill right on through.

Although I will say this....I said it when this started and I'll say it again. I'm not sure how that big of a minimum wage increase makes it in a reconciliation bill in the Senate due to the Byrd rule. I'm guessing Bern will come up with some fuzzy math and fuzzy rules to keep it in, but in my mind I think someone will cause a stink over it in the Senate and cause a major delay on the bill. Then we will see just exactly how important it is to Schumer and Biden to pass COVID relief quickly.

Are you putting all your eggs in the basket of Manchin voting against every single D Senator and VP Heels Up????

...no way he can take that pressure without caving.

ETA I will say the min wage will guarantee that no R Senator votes for the bill for sure.
