Since when in the frick did Pelosi become the House minority leader? What business is it of hers who the Republicans select? If she has veto power over the selections then it isn't a bipartisan committee, it's her committee. McCarthy should tell her to frick off. I’m coming around to the idea McCarthy and Trump played this one well.
A 9/11-style commission would have been legitimate and hard to refute. But voting against it knowing Nancy would push her House committee gave them a chance to refuse to participate and label it partisan. He then had leverage for her to include GOP members but of course she wanted control. Nominate some grenades like he did with Jordan and Banks and make her veto it and now you can write the whole thing off as partisan Kabuki theater.
This may actually be 4-D chess from McCarthy and Trump. All predicated on avoiding sunlight on January 6th, but good politics nonetheless.
