Good. I was excited about him becoming Speaker but he took a hard RINO turn immediately after.

Agreed. It is a GOPe move. They will try like hell to challenge President Trump.

Scalise, while a nice guy that was shot seems to be more GOPe. He and Kevin McCarthy who couldn't run for Speaker because of an affair are GOPe deep state.

Rand Paul for Speaker.

Looks like GOPe are racing to be the first down the drain, while the Dems are like a stubborn turd that refuses to be flushed. They will eventually sink.

I think that Barney Fife would be a better Speaker then anybody the GOPe has lined up.

Shameful that Ryan leaves running for POTUS wide open, when his party is the POTUS.

And this is the arc of most of these guys that claim to be Republicans. Whispers of a young dynamic conservative in Congress, usually from a swing state....10 years later they become what most of us despise.

frick him.

If the DS wins he can say he removed himself from the GOP due to (insert whatever narrative the media puts out, furthering his career). If Trump prevails he doesn't have to be part of the draining, and can say that he walked away from it all due to the corruption. I fully expect that snake to be back once the Storm has passed.

The Neocons are dying out...
In all of the ads I hear locally for Republicans, it is all lower taxes, no foreign wars/monies, stop Gov't spending, and no benefits for illegal immigration.

Can't be a senator and the head of a company that specializes in military defense at the same time.

I remember there was an article cited here that argued that Newt Gingrich could be speaker without being a member of Congress.

And Wikipedia says you are also correct:

The Constitution does not require the Speaker to be an elected member of the House of Representatives, although every Speaker thus far has been.
