LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — On Thursday, President Trump officially commuted the federal sentence of the son of U.S. Rep. Steve Womack (R-Ark). Reports show that James Phillip Womack was arrested back in September 2018 when he was 31 years old on more than 10 charges, including multiple related to drugs and firearms.

quote:

Womack has also been previously convicted on other drug-related charges several times. In the federal case where he received the commutation, he was indicted on April 26, 2023, on one count of distributing over five grams of meth and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

He was sentenced in federal court in May 2024 to eight years in prison for distributing more than grams of methamphetamine.

Love it. This is what America is about - getting a shot after you’ve made mistakes.

Donald seems to be putting together quite the crew of drug dealers, schemers, crooks, and fraudsters.

I'm ok with commutations.

Many of these pardons I really really dislike and would rather hear a [rational] frank explanation from the admin if he's going to insist on doing them.

ok... so it looks like everything else stands

quote:

The clemency order signed by Trump reduces the remainder of the federal prison term but does not eliminate or shorten his supervised release and leaves all conditions of supervised release unchanged.

and considering the following blurb, this may be a compassionate thing.

Womack's statement, "I am grateful to President Trump for this gracious and thoughtful action. The commutation has allowed my son to be with his family during a profoundly difficult time, and the President’s phone conversation with my wife and her care team made an impression that I’ll cherish forever."

Looks like the wife is ill.

Still don't like it- but this makes more sense.

How does this ruin and destroy your life? Does this decision cause you to not want to get out of bed every morning because it's that devastating to you and your family?

Are you high?

All I VERY simply said was I was not a fan of it.

Then, a few more posts down I commented that it seems there were some unfortunate family circumstances that prompted it AND that at least it doesn't change the circumstances of his supervision.

Chill the frick out, homie baloney.

....and then there is this guy. He promises that he'll never sell drugs again. Take his word for it, this time.

You’ve still yet to answer the question. Are you just filled with that much hate?

In case you haven't noticed, unlike the Left the Right can actually disagree with individual decisions & actions. That's what happens when you're not a sheep just agreeing with literally everything the Dems spoon feed you.
