Just heard from my inlaws who are in far eastern OR on the ID border; said the local response is a collective "whatever" accompanied by a sneer.

Yeah 4th surge. let's have a 4th lockdown, since the first 3 worked so incredibly well. Right, Oregon?

Those people are insane. Oregon has a population of 4.2 million people. Louisiana has about 4.4 million. As of yesterday, there are 328 people hospitalized with COVID in Oregon. In Louisiana, there are 307. They are shutting down and we are opening up.
What was Louisiana's peak hopsitalization number? It is kind of weird that Oregon is back up to half of what their fall peak was.

300 people statewide hospitalized? That seems like nothing. That is what La is at now and it is nothing to be alarmed considering NO itself weathered a 1000 patient surge. I believe our two states are similar population wise.

2000ish. Happened in April 2020 and Jan 2021. The April surge was 50% in NO metro area which they handled.

It seems like the lockdowns have done nothing but drag out the economic pain, but the idiot dems love dictating even when it doesn't work.

The state has a population of 4 million people

I can't imagine 300 is overwhelming the system

It’s bizarre. We have vaccines that are proving to be effective. A portion of the population has had covid and that’s shown to have long term immunity. We have states opening up and showing statistically that everything will be okay.

I can’t imagine living there. How awful.

They are still trying to implement medically induced socialism.

I feel bad for eastern Oregon. That little shithole called Portland controls everything there. I bet the eastern part of the state doesn't even listen to the orders coming from Portland.

Some of those in Eastern Oregon would like to be part of Idaho.

Why won’t Oregon just wear more masks.

We are told they are so effective.

I’ve been in the Portland area all week and traveled to the NW corner of the state yesterday. This is my first time in OR and it is gorgeous except for the cesspool called Portland. The homeless compounds that the government has allowed to be “constructed” are indicative of a 3rd world country. I’m good if I never come back. The liberals can have this shithole.

I could only understand lockdowns if it was in its early stages and we wanted to be cautious. Beyond March of 2020 I was completely against them. It is so pointless to lock down by now. Why keep stabbing ourselves in the gut for a disease with a less than 1% mortality rate? Especially when we've rolled out vaccines to more than 100M people?

Based on an email I received this morning, Washington State is going to roll back to more restrictive lockdowns next Tuesday as well.

It just doesn't make sense. They do so much harm and no good.
