No surprise the imbeciles voting for Oregon's Measure 114 has just a few issues and none are good for Oregon gun owners. Prepare for major shitshow.

Oregon permit system won't be ready

Who saw this coming?

quote:

Two days after telling a federal judge that Oregonians will be able to apply for a permit to buy a gun by the end of this week, Oregon’s attorney general Sunday night acknowledged the state isn’t ready to have a permitting process in place as required by the voter-approved gun control

The AG couldn't even be honest with a judge so anyone voting for this measure better get a clue and realize that measure isn't going to be what it was sold as.

So what's going to happen? Unless there is some relief from the deadline, Oregon gun owners can't purchase a firearm come December 8. It gets better. The permit system won't be electronically able at first and permits will have to be handled manually. How long it will take to approve the permits is anyone's guess but I'm going with months.

Lastly, the current carry permit training class aren't approved for the purchase permit. Just fantastic.

Any such restriction on ARMS ownership is unconstitutional. That includes "red" states that have any sort of permit requirements.

This is blatantly unconstitutional. SCOTUS will overturn the law.

I’m pretty sure it was sold to them as a way to infringe on gun ownership … and that’s exactly what it’s doing.

Didn't the Sheriff say he didn't have the man power or training to enforce this.

At least one did. And also that as Sherriff he is sworn to uphold the Constitution and this is not Constitutional so he won't enforce.

They created a Catch 22 with this, no purchase permit, no gun to take the live fire class with. By design?

Several said they wouldn't but would appear to be for magazines.

It's all by design. It's always about hurting the gun owner in anyways possible.

The people that didn't vote for this should just move out of state. I know it sounds far fetched, but the crazies that voted for this should be left to fend for themselves and eat each other alive.

If you don't need a background check or permit to vote you shouldn't need it to purchased guns

So what does this mean? Any gun dealer in his jurisdiction won't have to require the permit from a customer? Does the state LEO have any day in enforcement so still hinders that approach?

Perhaps this will helps get a lawsuit on its way a lot faster as the state definitely didn't hold up it's side of the unconstitutional bargain.

Well, the West Coast is unconstitutional, we all knew that.

The mass exodus will continue.....

They should just institute a mandatory straw man purchasing system whereby law abiding citizens are required to purchase guns and then transfer them to the criminals. That way the law abiding citizens lose money, get arrested for the straw man purchase and the criminals get all the weapons.

My dad worked for the US Forest Service for over 35 years. One of the most underrated areas of this country is the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in NE Oregon close to the Wasand Idaho borders.

Tons of baws up there and beautiful.

I sold all of my forest land in WA and OR about 3 years ago because it was becoming loony.

The "test tube" state is at it again. Always experimenting with the US Constitution.
