Operation “Economic Fury,”

Posted on 8/10/26 at 12:13 pm
In a recent interview, Bessent described Epic Fury as the “kinetic portion” and said Treasury's Economic Fury effort was the financial follow-through. He said Treasury is going after Iran's overseas assets, financial networks, and oil revenue.
-Iran's currency falling to record lows
-Inflation surging
-Iran's access to foreign revenue being restricted
-Treasury identifying and pursuing Iranian assets around the world
-The U.S. seizing approximately $1 billion in Iranian cryptocurrency assets as of May 29.
“On the economic side, we have them by the throat, and they've got 150, 180% food inflation, not able to pay the troops.”
Bessent wasn't merely claiming that sanctions were hurting Iran. He was arguing that Iran's financial position had become a strategic weakness:
-150–180% food inflation,
-Iran allegedly unable to pay its troops
-Severe pressure on the government's ability to finance its military
-The U.S. restricting Iranian oil revenue and financial channels
-Economic pressure being used alongside the military campaign rather than separately
-Iran's currency falling to record lows
-Inflation surging
-Iran's access to foreign revenue being restricted
-Treasury identifying and pursuing Iranian assets around the world
-The U.S. seizing approximately $1 billion in Iranian cryptocurrency assets as of May 29.

No doubt their economy is collapsing but is it effecting those at the top and in power? According to Forbes the accumulated wealth of the IRGC and Iran's leadership was between 100-200 billion before this started. Not enough to fund a country but enough to live comfortably while your economy is collapsing. That's the biggest issue here, the leaders themselves aren't feeling the strain of these actions. Those same leaders are willing to let the whole country go to hell and the people suffer as long as it means potentially defeating and embarrassing the US.

No one can make that statement, either yes or no. The public does not have a faction of the information to make a determination like this. I am not sure it is available to our government, but I do know they have more info than the public.
Everyone wants to”unconditional surrender” like WW2, but that took some heavy bombing over 2-3 years plus boots on the ground plus a total war effort plus a world effort.

True , another thing that might be keeping them from negotiating is their other avenues of export. Iran has increased exports out of the Caspian Sea by 181% over the last several months. Now, that offsets less than 10% of what was going out of the strait but could possibly be enough to allow their leaders to ride this out for quite some time. But like you said that part is speculation cause we most likely don't have all the information.

Their National Oil Company just had their assets frozen. That's hurting the top.
Around 50 senior Iranian officials (political, military, intelligence, and security figures) have been confirmed killed in the 2026 Iran war that began with U.S.-Israeli strikes on February 28, 2026
GDP contraction of around 6% in 2026.
Eroded purchasing power.
Top officials have privately warned of dire fiscal, oil-revenue, and supply conditions, contributing to temporary waivers, talks, or deals at various points. Who? President Masoud Pezeshkian and Central Bank Governor Abdolnasser (also spelled Abdolnaser/Abdolnaser) Hemmati.
Pezeshkian personally approached Khamenei. He described economic conditions as dire, said the U.S. naval blockade was crippling, and indicated he would resign if the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)—aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz and extending the ceasefire—was not approved.
Hemmati sent a letter warning of a severe/acute budget crisis. He stated that Iran could not sell oil or use alternative trade routes at the necessary volumes and that critical food and medical supplies risked running out by late August 2026 if the blockade continued.
Do you see the whole picture yet?

Hopefully this is the case. Not saying it isn't true but just wondering what sources have access to private talks between the president and supreme leader and how they had the ability to release that information?

These assets were frozen by a state owned bank. Seems like Iranian leadership has stepped in and ordered the unfreezing of those accounts. Of course that's based on information from google's AI so I guess it could potentially be false.

All of this is true. At this point, we just let Iran bleed out until they can't pay anybody to fight for them, the military dissolves and the people throw out the current regime.
I have it on good authority that the Muslim leadership has already fled the country and their money source has been cut off. They are hypocrites and won't use the money they have left that they stole from the Iranian people to fund a losing war against the US. They are seeking asylum.
What's left of leadership in Iran is fractured and the people that we are negotiating with don't have control of the people who are still fighting. So more bombs probably won't help much. Economic stranglehold will probably be more effective. It just depends on how much political will we have.
My understanding is that the deal that Trump settled for was not very good. They need to replace the regime, have inspectors on the ground, and open the Strait of Hormuz.

In conflict there has always been disinformation.
It's the job of the gov of Iran to try and suade the US citizens to not back attacks of any kinds on Iran.
It's the job of the US to be more convincing to the public.
However, Pezeshkian and other officials have publicly acknowledged serious economic pressures, high inflation, livelihood challenges, and the impact of sanctions/blockade measures.

I think that's the goal. And we have been playing them until the supply chains have stabilized with it closed.

The really stupid people are the ones that still believe getting into an unwinnable war of choice was a good idea.

I fully believe we should go back to hitting Iran and go all out with it. I think the issue with the economic situation is the supreme leader (if he is even still alive) has the final say on what is agreed to and what isn't. What determines how long they hold out is how long they are willing to allow their people to suffer. Unfortunately it seems there is no limit to that. They killed tens of thousands of them themselves it's not so far fetched to think that they will allow them to starve in the streets just to say they defeated and embarrassed the US

Economic fury is what is going to hit us this fall.

A population starved will be more open to taking out their leaders. They are moldable.

True, but we have heard since the beginning of this thing that the Iranian people are going to rise up and it hasn't happened yet. Honestly, I've lost trust in that happening anytime soon. Will it happen eventually? Possibly, but who knows when it will be.

Khomenei and the IRGC are not going to back down due to economic pressure. they are willing to return to the stone age if it means defeating the US. this is religious and personal for them (we took out his father and family).
also, the people have shown they lack the power to revolt.
