ONE EV battery take at least 500,000lbs of Earf material

Watching those hokie commercials about EV vehicles being so 'green' is really sickening.
EVs are NOT zero emissions: It takes 500,000 pounds of earth material to build a single 1,000-pound battery
LINK
And that is only a start.
Look up 'open-pit mining'. LINK Its disastrous and takes up tons and tons of resources. It scars the landscape for several miles, these pits go down hundreds & hundreds of feet and sometimes a mile across.
Hundreds of huge Earth moving machines have to be used to dig up this material.
Millions of gallons of water are used.
And the list goes on and on.
Folks, these EVs are NOT green. They take up huge amounts of resources and pollute the environment even worse than an ICE vehicle

(Natural News) The idea that electric vehicles (EVs) are somehow good for the environment is an absolute joke.
Energy analyst Mark P. Mills dropped a few bombshells this week debunking the myth that Teslas and other heaps of electric junk are “clean” or “green.” Truth be told, EVs are far worse for the environment than internal combustion engine vehicles that run on gasoline or petrol.
“You have to dig up about 500,000 pounds of materials to make a single 1,000-pound battery,” said Mills, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a faculty fellow at Northwestern University‘s McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science.

We know.
They know.
But it is a way for the elites to control the population.

This sounds like a whole lot of science denying. That's not allowed these days. Report to your re-education center immediately.

Yep. The green movement pretty much killed the coal mining industry in Alabama. Now they're buying up land to mine for graphite and other battery materials...and I doubt much of that heavy machinery will run on batteries.

I’m just going to say that presently…EVs are not my cup of tea, not even close.

We are not allowed to talk about the full cradle to grave impacts of EVs or other green energy projects, cars, etc
Close your eyes, shut your mouth and move along.

Go do some research on lithium mining in the Congo. Here an article from an ultra left-wing newspaper about it.
WaPo
There is an extremely high human cost to all of these EVs

This is a wind powered boat, have them debate that.

But that's why we need more EV technology, so we can eventually have EV earth-movers which produce no CO2! Don't you know CO2 is the absolute worst for Mother Nature!?!!11
Well, yeah... except for trees. And I guess grass. And all plant life.
BUT OMG CO2!!!!

500k tonnes..... thats the number i have for ore.

Open pit mining is a thing of the past. Look up DLE. Matter of fact, head over to the standard lithium thread on the MT
Posted on 5/4/23 at 7:27 am to Reubaltaich
Transport costs, processing and assembly are additional wasteful resources.

Buy a gas guzzler just to piss off the liberals

If they want to stick us in the closed communities, where everything you need is within 5 miles, why would we need anything more than a mule and a wagon?

Why is lithium extraction bad for the environment? Any type of resource extraction is harmful to the planet. This is because removing these raw materials can result in soil degradation, water shortages, biodiversity loss, damage to ecosystem functions and an increase in global warming.
quote:
Extraction of the product causes several environmental defects, including water contamination and increasing carbon dioxide emissions. According to a report by Friends of the Earth, lithium extraction inevitably harms the soil and causes air contamination.
Doesn't sound great either

Yep the “party of science” except for when it requires the acceptance of science.

China controls 90% of rare earth mineral mining required for EV batteries.
Now you know why they want us to switch.

EV only moves the tailpipe that you would have from an ICE vehicle to the power plant.
Eco Nazis claim that we will be able to charge up our EV car with energy from solar panels. Solar panels are only 33% efficient in transforming sunlight into electricity when new. After that ,the percentage drops off over time.
Can your home solar panels produce 480 volts on demand for several hours to charge up your ride ?

Gah, you people are just ate up with this kind of Russian science-denying disinformation.

Assuming that was true, how would this be a way for the "elites" to control the population?
