Once Democrats are back in control, Kavanaugh will be investigated

according to Sheldon Whitehouse. Why doesn't Kavanaugh ask for an FBI investigation into this to clear his name? it just seems logical. Because there's eventually going to be an investigation into this, whether it's two months from now or two years, two months from now.

Walk into your local FBI office and pull aside and agent.
Tell them you want them to investigate a crime where a man touched you 30 years ago. Tell them you don’t remember where it was, when it was, and who was there.
Report back on the laughter that ensued.
