Trial watchers, sociologists and even FX’s show “People v OJ Simpson” have argued that the jurors in O.J. Simpson’s murder case acquitted him as payback for the Rodney King beating. And in ESPN’s new event series, “O.J.: Made in America,” one juror finally comes out and says it.

In an excerpt aired on public radio show “Fresh Air” this week, juror Carrie Bess, who is now in her 70s, is asked whether “there are members of the jury that voted to acquit OJ because of Rodney King.”

“Yes,” she says simply. Later she says that she was one of them.

Interviewer: Do you think there are members of the jury that voted to acquit OJ because of Rodney King?Bess: Yes.
Interviewer: You do?
Bess: Yes.
Interviewer: How many of you do you think felt that way?
Bess: Oh, probably 90 percent of them.
Interviewer: 90 percent. Did you feel that way?
Bess: Yes.
Interviewer: That was payback.
Bess: Uh-huh.
Interviewer: Do you think that’s right?

At that question, she holds up her hands.

No shite.

Remind me how Rodney King died? Did he drowned or was it overdose, or die from drowning from the result of overdose?

Real model citizen right there. Just like George Floyd.

And people like her wonder why their neighborhoods are crime infested, murderous hell holes. They get exactly what they deserve

There should be a mistrial declared, and that woman should go to jail.

Wee are going to have to go to judge only trials because the citizens can no longer be trusted.

Such easy liars. She doesn't care about the truth. She's just rooting for her team. There's way too much of that.

You trust judges to be completely impartial?

Murder doesn't have a statute of limitations

In a real world if a juror says we didn't give a shite about the case and trial and voted not guilty to frick the LAPD that should toss the trial no matter how long it's been.

And this is just another example in a long line of examples of why the black community is where it is and will continue to remain where it is. No amount of money on the planet will fix the problems in the black community because it will never ever fix the attitude and mindset that plagues it.

Edit: throwing money at the problem and pandering to them simply reinforces the attitude and mindset. It’s like dealing with a spoiled brat a-hole kid by giving him money to behave. It might work temporarily but as soon as the money is gone he’ll go right back to acting like a shithead because he knows you’ll just throw more money at him.

Rodney wasn’t murdered. He was beaten by cops, but he didn’t die
