We should release a bunch of oil out of the SPR to help keep prices down for midterms.

Yeah, I’m sure they’ll do that

US commercial crude oil inventories sit at about 424.4 million barrels (excluding the SPR) — a surprising BUILD of 17.422 million barrels

$5.99/gal for diesel isn’t fun.

No fun at all.

Brutal for south Louisiana rice farmers during a drought.

It is and the GOP Midterm is timed perfectly for this current price,

Diesel is almost $6.00 bucks a gallon and gas is over $4.00 and you think this benefits the GOP lmao.

Most of that goes to Europe anyway.

Mars is $119 and premium crude Louisiana Light is the same as lower grade WTI at $96

Those complaining were not ever voting GOP anyway. Those complaining will not vote for a dem because they can't afford to waste their gas or diesel money driving to the polls.

Besides, ICE, FBI and NG will be watching.

Absolutely this.

If I were in charge of this site, I'd make it where people could ignore threads like this. Perhaps even put a custom label tag on the listing. Mine would read 'DU herpes alert' for this thread. And if I could share the label....

Think of all the people I could save.

It’s still lower than Biden when you add in inflation

Bad take.
Oil prices are killing the stock market and will kill Republican chances in November

That's not the issue.
It will be the Republican apathy that will destroy the election results.
Example, say you have 10 registered voters, 5 dem, 5 Republican.
A few won't vote for either party. So, let's say 3 dems and 3 Republican will vote, but now 1 of the 3 Republican likely voters are fed up and feel like it's not worth it because oil prices are high, etc.
So, henceforth the Dem wins 3 votes to 2.

Economic health, taxes, economy etc. are the most discussed Presidential debate questions as far back as most here can recall.

I do not believe that today's climate would cause a shift to Democrat or Democtaic Socialism, despite their growth in the 18-34 demographic.

That is only 50% of what the democrats were hoping for when the war started.

I remember in July 2008 making a ton of money while oil was over $147 a barrel. If we adjust it for inflation we have a price of

$214 per barrel.
