If the US wanted they could withhold all US domestic oil production along with South American oil production from global markets and at the same time begin the process of ramping up domestic oil refining capacity and then tell the rest of the world to frick off.

Oil companies are bracing for any resolution to the Iranian Conflict that could force oil prices drop to dirt cheap levels and make drilling in America unprofitable.
That is the chief reason oil companies are not racing to drill in the Gulf of America’s OCS where oil needs to be at least in the 60-75 dollars per barrel to be profitable.
In some areas, that could make the 1980’s oil bust child’s play.

You forget that our stateside refineries are not setup to refine the light crude we actually produce.
Modifying these existing stateside refineries, and/or building new ones is not a quick process.
It's not just about US refining capacity, it's about the type of crude our refineries can handle....

They ain’t worried about the actual war aspect of this war, but rather irrefutable evidence of muh broked prawmiss. Trump prawmissed them that there would be “no wars.” Full stop, as far as they’re concerned. Which I guess would confuse the shite out of them, say, if an attack on our homeland occurred……remember, Trump promised no wars!!
