I hear they are bringing their bicycle corp and stinky fish grenades with them.

The Defense Ministry in Copenhagen said those will include three new Arctic naval vessels, two additional long-range surveillance drones and satellite capacity.

Funny they couldn't be bothered to spend 2 billion in the last 100 years to improve the quality of life for people on that iceberg.

So European countries are starting to defend their own defense budgets instead of relying on American funded Nato for defense?

Something, something 4D chess.

And just like that, Trump got Denmark to increase their defense spending... I wonder how far behind they were in their NATO spending?

What is their military going to do in Greenland besides twiddle their thumbs?

It’s total posturing. They are playing into the ridiculous narrative that Trump is going to take Greenland through military force.

I watched a movie once about Germany's invasion of Denmark during WW2. The movie lasted longer than the actual invasion.

Bluster. They must realize that the Greenland Citizenry has now entered the 'Transfer Portal' and it's NIL game on.

Why not allow the folks in Greenland to vote on whether or not they want to be independent, if passed, then vote whether on how they want to be connected to the US.

Denmark is the very definition of pipe dream utopia. They ride their little bicycles around and enjoy lounging around without a care in the world because they assume someone else will take care of their national defense.

The fact we can move entire militaries just by word should scare everyone.

We are that powerful and much more so when we have a leader people will fight for.

Mark Milley & the rest of the They/them military should be sent in for an amphibious assault. It’s a win/win situation

Trump was never serious about acquiring Greenland. It was all a bluff to get European countries to up their military spending.

They are doing more to secure Greenland than they did their own country in WW2!

We can afford to buy the minerals, but we can’t afford to let Denmark sit back and just allow China to take over Greenland and the surrounding shipping lanes.

Whether we acquire Greenland first, or just bluff to do so to get Denmark off their arse to start deterring China either way it’s the win we need.

They’ve spent a lot more than that. The annual subsidy is more than $500 million.

I didn't have a war between the US and Denmark on my bingo card for 2025.

they have 31 F16's, 6 F35A's, 4 challenger 604 business jets converted to military surveillance use and 4 C130's they have no ability to refuel in flight.

that means their ability to use their fighter aircraft to project power is limited to about 500 miles that get's them about half way to greenland.
