IRGC-linked Tasnim News reported on Sunday that Iran has insisted any initial memorandum of understanding with the United States should include the release of at least part of its frozen assets in the first step.

The report said Tehran had stressed that the released funds must be accessible to Iran.

It added that Washington had sought in recent weeks to link the release of the assets to a possible final nuclear agreement.

Iran wants part of the funds released at the start of any MOU and a mechanism set for releasing the rest during negotiations, according to the report.

The report said the possible memorandum of understanding would allow the number of vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to return to pre-war levels within 30 days.

It said that the US naval blockade must be fully lifted within 30 days under the draft, adding that no change in Hormuz traffic would take place if the blockade remained in place.

NEW: The IDF uncovered and destroyed multiple Hamas weapons depots in central Gaza over the past 24 hours, including stockpiles of anti-tank missiles, RPGs, long-range weapons, explosives, grenades, and additional combat gear intended for attacks on Israeli forces and civilians.

Several of the sites erupted in secondary explosions after the strikes, confirming the scale of the weapons caches hidden inside.

Israeli forces operating along the Yellow Line continue carrying out targeted operations to eliminate immediate threats and dismantle Hamas terror infrastructure in Gaza.

All I can say about this is that myself, and those I've spoken to that I served with see any half measure deal as a betrayal. A betrayal of all those killed, and maimed by Iran.
This was/is a once in a lifetime chance to really do good in the world.
Its going to be fn devastating to see that chance squandered .
Especially on the cusp of memorial day.

Assuming the latest reports are accurate and Iran will not turn over enriched uranium or allow the Strait to return to its pre-war state, one (or all) of these four things are clear:

1). This is all part of the plan because the United States knows Iran won’t be able to meet these conditions giving a pretext for more combat.

2). The United States is negotiating with “the wrong people” and Trump is so desperate for a deal he just reaches a deal with anyone even though that person or people have no true power to bind Iran.

3). Both sides are misrepresenting the terms of any deal publicly to save face with their respective people.

4). The United States is offering significant concessions yet doing so from a place of leverage begging the question why we are so quick to give up anything when we (thought) we had the upper hand?

Regardless, this is all such a slap in the face to the United States and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and feels especially cruel on Memorial Day weekend.

FoxNews is presenting this deal as being a 30 day timeframe where Iran must fulfill certain commitments and continue to negotiate key points. The US Military will remain in the area for that time period to ensure Iran does what it is supposed to do.

Then the whole “deal” or “agreement” is just a worthless MOU to give Iran 30-60 more days to regroup when they were on their heels prior to the foolish ceasefire.

None of the commitments will ever be fulfilled. They'll continue to drag their feet, and we'll continue offering them extensions. Trump's term will expire and Iran will become a major issue in the 2028 presidential campaign.

This deal is fricking dogshit. We started this, we have to end it. Trump is a pussy if he signs this shite. Iran will never actually follow through and Trump has proven over and over again that he makes threats he won’t back up. Instead, Iran will pretend to negotiate to buy themselves two more weeks and Trump takes it every

Maybe, if you only look at in the context of “Iran has been governed by a terrorist regime for 47 years and that should end”

If you look at through this lens, it has been a success: “the largest industry in the US is the one involved in making war worldwide, and those involved in that industry starve unless we are bombing someone somewhere. And they refuse to starve, and will cancel or kill anyone who tries to starve them”

I’ve been following this thread for 961 pages, read 90% except when y’all get to squabbling for pages on end. My eyes glaze over.
I don’t believe that I’ve ever commented.
It seemed things were going well and that our goals would be achieved.
I’m finally beginning to really question President Trump. Yes I voted for him. Yes I’ve given him the benefit of the doubt.
This is some BS. Finish the job. IRGC has to be wiped out and we have to get the uranium.
In my mind his legacy hangs in the balance.
Many things he has accomplished are great for our country. Finishing this would be great for the World!
Remember when the people of Iran were begging to be freed from sharia law!?
What about them…..
I thought America stood up to bullies and freed people. Wtf ??

Its kind of simple bro, trump knows if he keeps bombing them, 1, its the end of his approval and midterms, its highly unpopular... and 2, it doesnt really work. We couldn't even shut down the houthis with bombs.

So what, we just spend another 30 billion when the first 30 billion worked so great? We dropped billions in munitions on them, had our generals bragging about our "increasing pace" and unprecendented this and that, and now we have an iran with a undeafeatable ambiguous leader, we created a situation where they have now siezed the strait, we cant stop them from hitting our "allies", they are stronger than before in certain ways and china will just rebuild what isnt.

They screwed the pooch. Whatever they thought was gonna happen didnt, and now its been damage control for weeks. It was never going the other way towards boots on the ground, and imo it would be really fkn stupid to do that, and double down on a misplay, this is the most logical way at this point in time given the current set of facts.

Wake up and smell reality. They need to take their L in the best way possible and try to sell it as anything but.

The reality is defeating Iran is going to involve collapsing their entire society at this juncture. You aren't beating them by trying to hit only the combatants. It's by definition war crimes though.

There are already conflicting reports about what has and hasn't been agreed to. Too early to say anything is a done deal yet.

I just heard Iran filed a claim with the Trump fund to redress claims due to their suffering from the weaponization and lawfare at the hands of the US government. I just hope they leave a little for Michael Avenatti and Michael Cohen.

BREAKING: Iran says contrary to what the US claims, the now fully leaked "Memorandum of Understanding" contains no Iranian commitments to hand over nuclear stockpiles, remove equipment, shut down nuclear facilities, or even commit to not build a nuclear bomb. Instead, all nuclear issues are deferred to a 60 day period of negotiations after signing, per Fars News.

For this period to start, the US would need to accept no nuclear commitments from Iran, agree to release $100 billion of Iranian frozen assets, lift the naval blockade, lift all oil and petrochemical sanctions during the negotiation period, pay $270 billion in war reparations, and accept Hormuz under "full permanent sovereign Iranian management and authority" at pre-war traffic levels with no US presence.
