I'd deny it as well. Zero % chance that dude is ordering anyone to do anything.

I'm sure SOMEBODY did say that though and then slapped his name on it

Ahmad Vahidi is his name. He is the real person in charge right now in Iran. He is the only person who has "access" to Mojtaba Khamenei and all communications are processed through him.

In other words, Mojtaba Khamenei is either in a freezer somewhere next to his pops, or if still alive, brain dead in a coma.

I’m sure there’s a lot of feel good Facebook profiles too.

It crazy to think anyone is going to risk everything to rise up, and then as soon as they succeed they will invite some bougey remnant of the past who’s lived a peaceful and anonymous life in the US to return and step in to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Facebook profiles? No I am talking about the people in Iran waving actual flags at the risk of death.

47 years is not even close to "as soon as". Your dismissive attitude about buyers remorse being possible is comical. Are you familiar with Cuba? Are you familiar with NYC?

So, the tens of thousands of people killed by the IRGC were not real??? Your think they were pro Islam?

The only thing accurate in your post is that Pahlavi has been living in exile in the US.

the plan to bomb and demand a deal didn't work. and should be obvious to all now that those mullahs and zealots are never going to agree on a deal. threats of bombing don't matter. they don't care about their people. even worse, alot of them are 'end of days' guys that think the Islamic rapture is imminent.

big problem is that draining strategic oil reserves like we're doing runs out early June. that's when shite hits the fan. better to just keep the embargo, tell them we'll bomb sites periodically, escort through the strait, build alternatives. it's gonna get ugly in June.

I disagree with Rubio! Making some progress with Iran on a deal is not a good thing. Nothing good can come from it. For the life of me I don't understand why they just don't agree with Trumps demands and then not follow through.

You have to bomb them until they give up. Once you stop, they have no reason to give up.

Cuba's 90 miles from our shores. So if you have a systemic meltdown in that country, which is where they're headed!"

"You can't fix it with the current political system that's in place. They just don't comprehend how to do it. And it's a failed state!"

"Their economy and the model they're trying to follow in Cuba doesn't resemble what anyone is doing anywhere in the world!"

"You look at Cuba in the Bahamas, in Jamaica, in the Dominican Republic, here in Florida. Cuba's surrounded by places where people have the right to do things like own a business, work for themselves, and be able to vote and for the leaders that govern them and or replace them. So if that's possible all around Cuba, why isn't it impossible?"

"Why is that not possible inside of Cuba? And right now, there just doesn't seem to be people over there in charge of the regime who are in any way open to any of those changes."

"President Trump prefers a negotiated agreement...I'm just being honest with you, you know, the likelihood of that happening given who we're dealing with right now is not high."

NOW: President Trump's team has REJECTED Iranian terms for Strait of Hormuz access and controls

"Iran has released a map showing what it calls a controlled maritime zone. Tehran says it's committed to reopening the strait to friendly countries that abide by its terms, which will most likely include fees for just going through the strait."

"And Washington, by the way, reacting to that saying it is simply unacceptable."

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday that any Iranian move to impose tolls in the Strait of Hormuz would make a diplomatic deal with Tehran “unfeasible,” calling the plan “unacceptable, completely illegal, and a threat to the world."

"No one in the world is ?in favor of the tolling system. It can't happen. It would ?be unacceptable. It would make a diplomatic deal unfeasible ?if ?they were to continue to pursue that. So ?it's a threat to ?the world if they ?were trying to do that, ?and it's completely illegal," Rubio told reporters in Miami on Thursday.

Sounds like a "red line."

Who has mentioned red lines previously?

Is that despite the people flying the old Iranian flag?
Is that despite them chanting his name during protest?

That may or may not have actually happened given how whatever you imagine is reality can be created whole-cloth in a datacenter now.

The proof is in the pudding: no uprising has happened.

I’m familiar with a lot of things, and I’m unfamiliar with any freedom fighters that don’t view political control as a spoil of victory.

I’ve certainly never heard someone publicly float the idea of handing over power to a once removed exiled family that washed its hands of the matter 50 years ago as some benevolent act of noblesse oblige.

two thoughts on the above

When strategic oil storage runs out in June............US is a net exporter, oil reserve propping up Europe not the US.

Rubio compares Cuba to other Caribbean island nations........ Yet he fails to compare Cuba with Haiti which is much closer to reality. A Haitian like Cuba only 90 miles offshore is a big problem, fix Cuba now before a complete collapse

Where have we heard that before?

And why are we discussing Cuba in the "Official US/Israel vs Iran war thread"?
