Iran probably thinks dumping their oil in the gulf is a slick move.

Summer time temp's and sun will burn all that black stuff off in about 4 weeks.
Posted on 5/15/26 at 8:58 am to TroutGuy
Why didn't they just dig huge sand pits and dump it there?

How about those SMPTs hauling power plants and production modules.
Your engineering experience with oil and gas is lacking.
You just replied to yourself.

As soon as Trump gets back to DC, I bet he orders some strikes.
I do not think he will. I think he will restart Project Freedom and wait for the Iranians to strike first. That will give us an excuse to retaliate.

Meh,
UAE has been planning this for several years. It has been drilling like a mofo with production capacity several times its allotment under OPEC. No one drills to not produce.

Are they going to invest to double the size of Valdez? Because it's capacity is probably a 1/4 of what China was getting daily through the strait
This might be a great long term investment, but not a short term fix to offset the current issues
Alaska isn't the only place...

I’ve been wondering if his angle with Xi was “the blockade will continue until the regime is gone. So you can be with us or against us, but being against us will prolong the Chinese pain.”

Yeah, he's batting a thousand...
Deals come in many forms.
With Ukraine, as far as I'm concerned, he tried to help Zelenskyy, but Zelenskyy is his own worst enemy.
With Greenland, he struck a deal with the leader of NATO. We have pretty much unlimited military access. Denmark and Greenland retain their sovereignty. Win-Win.
Iran is a work in progress.
Did you notice that China agreed to buy 200 Boeing jets? Stupid move on China's part, in my opinion, but still, a sale is a sale.

Rule of thumb: always check who you are actually responding to before you hurl an insult.
I think what he did is referred to as "self-ownage".

Iran is correcting Chinese Foreign Minister:
"While Beijing speaks of pursuing negotiations and dialogue, the recent aggression, as well as the aggression of June last year by the US and the Zionist regime on Iranian soil, which are in clear contradiction with all international standards, occurred in the midst of indirect consultations between the two countries and proved to the world that the White House is not fundamentally seeking diplomacy and negotiation"

Unlike the years of aggression launched from other nations via proxies....I know, that is [D]ifferent- we know, we hear it all the time from the Progressive side of the aisle

Guarantee that any public negative “discourse “ between China and Iran was pre planned and is bs.

BREAKING: China has explicitly informed the US that it recognizes Iran's "exercise of sovereignty" over the Strait of Hormuz, contradicting the White House readout of the Trump-Xi summit that claimed Xi opposed Iranian "militarization" of the Strait and any "toll" for its use, per a source close to Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf.
More than 10 Chinese ships have successfully transited under Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority permit system in the past two days.

When a chinaman defeats an adversary by deception and subterfuge it brings higher honor in the eyes of their fellow chinese than defeating the adversary by great courage and strength.

I've noticed signs of pro-regime bias from "The Hormuz Letter". A statement that begins with "China has explicitly informed the US" is too assertive given the regime's propensity for propaganda. If they don't have confirmation from China, the post should start with, "A source close to Iranian parliament speaker Ghalibaf claims...".
