So Iran is firing ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and sending drone swarms at the UAE.

I’m curious why we aren’t popping these launchers and hitting the drone storage areas.

Unless we are, and it’s not being covered.

Good question. Does the military believe the IRGC would slaughter the civilians?

Maybe the math doesn’t work?

Got to have a plan for this before the war starts.

We had a plan and they have abandoned the plan and decided to do nothing of importance. I classify the blockade and nothing of importance because alone it has zero chance of securing victory.

Idiots in power may claim victory if we leave the area with the IRGC intact.

IF regime change was never the goal then I will be the first to say this was the last stupid arse move the USA has done in a long list of stupid arse shite since WW2. Politicians suck.

Good thing the IRGC didn’t think of this…

We did, but sent them to a very unreliable partner in the Iraqi Kurds. Whomever masterminded that plan, ran it up the chain of command and got Trump to sign off on it should be publicly humiliated.

If anything, they should have worked with the anti regime Kurds of North Iran. They hate the current regime and are Pro-Pahlavi.

I hear you. The plan Hegseth devised was limited in scope.

1. Bomb Iranian military
2. Iran capitulates
3. ????
4. Profit

Remember when NPR interviewed the Iranian car dealer about his great month after selling the Kurds 50 land cruisers, and the official response was …. “they could’ve gotten that money from anyone”

We can end the war any time we want. Why do we need them to agree to anything? Why would we want them to agree to anything?

Lets say they all agree to leave Iran, dissolve the IRGC, never build a nuke, never build another missile, never support terrorism again... why would we even want that? They would just continue to do all of the above.

Trying to get a liar to agree to anything is freaking retarded. Negotiating with them is pointless... accomplishes absolutely nothing of lasting value.

No that was not the plan.

The plan was to bomb Iran to destroy their ability to inflict harm outside of their borders. The have a coup inside of their country. Politicians abandoned the second part for some reason.

Either their is something we don't know that cause them to do this that is being kept secret or politician have yet again screwed up royally.

Iran regime change would be the obvious preferred outcome.

But if you buy the story that Iran lied under the JPCOA and was pursuing a nuclear device, then doing nothing or the status quo wasn't working either, and if you think Iran wasn't going to start using the Strait to affect global trade once it had a nuclear device and ballistic deterrent, well, that's putting a lot of faith in them.

Which is my main issue with those against this action, they readily admit Iran was doing all the above, but figured it would just be "fine?" I don't know they never seem to make a counterpoint besides "this is dumb."

And make no mistake, we could absolutely blow the chance to forever fix this problem, but at minimum it appears we have stalled the nuclear threat, which isn't worth "nothing" as people seem to argue.

The overall problem is without regime change, the odds increase that future world leaders do nothing like they were previously and we end up with a nuclear Iran and a Strait they can close whenever they want, just delayed a few years.

Ok. You blame “politicians”. But Trump and Hegseth and Witkoff?

Congress didn’t authorize a war. And they attended the classified briefings and said it was an incomplete plan.

Good question to be asked now. Good question to be asked before the bombing started. Good question to be asked before tearing up the prior deal.

The US Congress has negative value. Whatever they accomplish is probably bad for the country. So, their lack of authorization is probably a good thing.

I didn't see their statement that the war plan was incomplete. Which congressperson said that?

First two made sense. This one doesn't. I don't know anyone who believes this was actually working.

I was being generous regarding an “incomplete” plan.

You can google to find where they said there was “no plan”.

But I'm asking you to tell us which congressperson said that. Was it pro-regime activist Ilhan Omar? Or maybe noted war plan analyst Ms. Cortez? Because I have a hard time believing there was no plan. I'd probably go as far as calling whoever said that a liar.
