Yes, I’m aware Rubio admitted it.

That reminder feels important right about now.

Go back to the beginning of March. Rubio said we were not ready to attack yet, but Israel forced us to act.

Israel said on Day one that the US and Israel had been planning the attack for months. The US force buildup started in January and lasted for a month prior to the attack. Obviously the force buildup was preceded by a complicated planning stage that involved military and civilian coordination between the two countries.

The initial strike, Feb 28th, came on a pre-agreed schedule to coincide with a known meeting of the ayatollah and senior officials. Trump had been expected to expound on the buildup during SOTU address on Feb 24th, but he didn't and the media was surprised at the lack of Iran commentary. Administration officials later said that Trump deliberately avoided focusing on Iran during SOTU address to avoid spooking them in advance of the attack planned for end of that week. The NY Times reported that the final strike time was based on US intelligence and passed on to Israel to carry out the strike.

Israel did not force the US to act on their schedule. They told the US when the window would likely be due to a predictable schedule, and that was the plan.

There are also claims that Ukrainian spec ops teams are in Iran training the populace

Is this from reliable sources?

Marco Rubio - March 2nd, 2026:

quote:

"We knew that there was going to be an Israeli action. We knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces, and we knew that if we didn't preemptively go after them before they launched those attacks, we would suffer higher casualties."

In other words, if Israel had waited longer, then we also would have waited longer. Israel took the initiative. We had no choice other than to go along, i.e., we were forced.

50 what?

I'm on record as being supportive of our actions to date.

I was surprised Rubio said what he said, but there is no denying that he said it.

I want us to finish the job decisively - regime change and control of the "nuclear dust".

ETA: I also have skin in the game. One of my stepsons serves on a guided missile destroyer. Last we heard from him 3 weeks ago, they had been ordered to join the blockade. Not sure if they have made it there yet.

It was planned months in advance. US intelligence called in the strike. I'm sure Rubio had his reasons for saying what he did, but President Trump was planning for that go date and he approved it on that go date. We had a choice because it was Trump's decision to make.

I hope your stepson comes home okay.

I have been, and will continue to be critical of this war for Israel. However, we should all support and wish the best for every single one of our military personnel.

I'm pretty sure the USN will respond back in a decisive manner as well.

Good thing the IRGC didn’t think of this…

They’re fascists not communists, though the distinction is a fine one.

Looking at the tip of the UAE that enters the Strait, I’m surprised they haven’t thought about building a canal on their territory that negates the need for Iran.
