I am about to ask a really dumb question, so please forgive me if it has already been asked or is just way below the intelligence level of this thread.

As for clearing the SOH, could the US use a Spooky (or whatever they call it, I think AC-130), some Apaches, Seahawks, and A-10 Warthogs, allowing for some other missions and planes to be used for more diverse or needed missions?

I do not know why I think this, and maybe I am foolish, but wouldn't an F-18 or whatever actually be too fast to conduct security and control missions on those boats?

The F-18, unlike a lot "fast" fighter jets does pretty well with slow turns and angles. That said, from what has been reported so far, it looks like we have been using a lot of helicopters to take out their boats in the last couple of days.

Pretty sure I saw that they are using a variety of aircraft, including helicopters. Those destroyers can accommodate a couple of helicopters, if I'm not mistaken. I think it would be more easy to take out a "small boat" with a helicopter than with a fighter plane.

Ali Motahri, they are called Mossad. They are pretty good at what they do.

Ali Larijani’s location was exposed under circumstances that regime insiders themselves find suspicious.

Ali Motahari openly questioned how Larijani - despite moving between safe houses - could have had his whereabouts compromised before being killed in a targeted strike.

Motahari is Larijani’s brother-in-law, as his sister is married to him.

When insiders start asking these questions publicly, it signals more than confusion. It points to possible internal leaks, fractures in trust, and a system where sensitive information may be slipping from within.

It also raises deeper concerns about power struggles inside the Islamic Republic - where rival factions compete behind the scenes, and exposure like this may not be accidental.

I think Trumps approach this week is pretty slick in restricting the visible US involvement to committing to the ceasefire, and enforcing the blockade. This helps a bunch in managing the democrates and the 60 day rule. Meanwhile if the UAE, Saudi, Isreal, Kuwait or Oman get hit by Iranian missiles or drones, they are released to hit back severely with the best weapons, guidance, target identification etc provided quietly by the US military. What's not to like?

I think these are good moves but it remains to be seen whether it will get the desired results in Iran.

In the best possible scenario, Iran's neighbors continue to pound the IRGC and eventually the regime falls from within.
