Remember Bakthtiar? Didn't take too long for them to turn on him as well

Well, yes and no. It’s just that if the President and CIC is saying it isn’t a part of the cease fire, then it really matters what he believes. I totally understand what your point is, but at the end of the day my point still stands.

It kind of does matter in a ceasefire agreement if half of the parties involved believe one thing and the other half another, hence the term......"agreement".

It particularly matters if the one big "win" from that agreement immediately goes out the window because of the disagreement

This is all true, but I'm less concerned about the chaos that is the "agreement" and more concerned that Iran seems to be approaching this with unserious demands. There are several things that they apparently consider deal breakers that are non-starters for us.

There is no refinery in Lavan, it is a terminal. It's near a gas field so it has a frac plant and the "oil" is condensate, aka pentanes plus or natural gasoline but not what a car can run on

I stand corrected. It is a tinker toy refinery.

I agree, and some of those are known nonstarters. Which leads to the question of why waste the time with this "ceasefire"? The Pakistani PM's tweet kind of came out of nowhere at the perfect time. It was awfully convenient.

Maybe the newly discovered international language of shitposting Twitter will bring the world together to realize…maybe we all share a common interest.

Operation Epic Fury Geolocation Thread
Ceasefire Day 1 - 8th April 2026

The first day of the ceasefire is underway - but "ceasefire" feels generous.

Missile launches from Iran continued this morning, whilst Iran's Lavan Island oil refinery has been struck, and the Israeli / Hezbollah conflict shows no sign of slowing. Despite claims from Donald Trump that the Strait is open, there's no evidence of oil tankers actually transiting it.

Meanwhile, we're still processing damage assessments from strikes conducted during Operation Epic Fury. Updates are ongoing as new data comes in - in many cases with significant delay. For example, strikes on Mashhad Airbase observed on the 2nd are only now yielding results.

A quick note: the geolocation work behind this is slow, methodical, and often thankless. The people doing it are working with limited tools, and spending hours of their time for no reward

Full details in the geolocations below.

False I was told here Iran was reasonable and did not fire anything since the agreement.

Apparently this whole cease fire thing was a ploy to cause infighting from within the IRGC. Maybe see how each commander reacts so we know which ones are better targets.

Well, JD......we still made the damn deal with him.

ETA: That deal was made with a lifelong member of the regime that we have said is "totally changed" who, reportedly, is crazy and "makes no sense". No wonder this has been such a shitshow.

Isn't it already a law all males in the united states must register for the draft once they turn 18?

Hard to know if Mossad is sharing Intel or justification for bombing their neighbors.

Their intelligence on Iran nuclear capabilities doesn’t match what our DNI testified their capabilities are…
