Valid concern as this could set a dangerous precedent. But our justification rests entirely on the doctrine of preemption. It's a principal that states we can legally and morally strike first, but only when there is credible evidence that Iran poses an imminent threat.

Our smart people must have decided that allowing a potential catastrophic threat to materialize is far greater than the risk associated with striking first.

And the two week window isn’t a set in stone deadline. It is a window of time from green lighting the enrichment from 60 to 90 percent at whatever date of their choosing.. it took us over a month to move assets and missile defense systems into the region. That leaves at minimum a 2 week gap where we don’t have the ability to effectively combat their aggression if they green lighted enrichment.. imagine what they are doing now, but doing it a month ago when we started scrambling resources to the region. The death toll and destruction climbs significantly.
