Trump has figured out that the best way to use the US Military is by tactical strikes, no boots on the ground, The vast majority of the US will support that.

IMO it’s a smart pivot from the Rand Paul style isolationism/pacifism that Trump was promoting his first term.

We spend lot of money on the US Military. Use it to take out the bad guys. Simple to everyone except Democrats

To the question of why would Iran and/or its proxies be firing missiles at countries other than Israel, perhaps it’s based on a thought by very desperate “backups” now finding themselves in the role of decision makers, hoping to essentially extort “the world” into putting pressure on the U.S. and Israel to cease with further bombing operations within Iran. In other words, “get them to stop, then we’ll stop.” Not saying it’s a good idea, just spitballing.

Here's my spitball theory. They want to draw other western nations into the conflict and widen it. So what happens? UK says we'll take a defensive stance --> their base in Cyprus gets hit. Maybe UK gets a bit more aggressive, which triggers a Muslim response back home, which forces the UK authorities to respond on the streets of London. Etc. If they can somehow turns this into widespread Arab unrest inside Western countries, Pakistan, India, etc., maybe they believe a broad coalition will form against the US and Israel and demand an end to hostilities. The provocations coming from inside Iran are just a way to widen the whole thing and kick off something bigger.

The winning right now makes no difference if what replaces this regime is not pro-West and durable. The winning was never in doubt in a tactical sense.

Maybe that will work, and lead to the Western Nations waking up and finally dealing with the Muslim problem.

That was also Clinton, Bush Obama and Biden's policy, which they justified by arguing air, drone strikes werent considered an act of war, so they didnt need to get Congressional approval.

the Military industrial complex will get their money, whether its a Republican or Democrat in the office.

Thinking out loud, we could borrow some F-22’s to Israel to get some experience vs Lebanon. We can’t take action ourselves but Israel can. Quick remarking s and presto.

Only smart if it’s produces long lasting results. If the regime survives this conflict, and it probably will, I’m not sure what the US gains for spending tens of billions dollars and depleting our interceptors just be back in this situation a few years down the line.

And that’s assuming the state doesn’t collapse into yet another civil war.

One of the commentators on Fox just said the 3 servicemen were killed by a drone in Kuwait. First I heard of a location.

Not dealing with a peoples who have not been Westernized. Nation building only works if there is a fertile ground present. There was not in Iraq nor Afghanistan....Iran, this is a different matter.

Lebanon could return to her former glory but the Iranian regime must be shown the exit

P.S. The everyday Iranian citizen knows this opportunity presents once - it is now - especially with Arab neighbors having their fill of this regime

What are long lasting results?
We got Maduro from, Venezuela, are freeing political prisoners. but largely the same oppressive regime in place while slowly lifting sanctions off them

What if a pro Western leader doesnt come in power in Iran? We gonna come back and strike them every year?

What if the public grows tired of it, like they do of every Middle East conflict? and the next President, Vance or the Democrat say no more strikes
