Oh for fricks sakes, THERES A FREAKIN OFF TOPIC BOARD FOR A REASON. Losing a dog sucks but I will never feel the need to go on an online message board and request sympathy over my pet dying. This is what’s wrong with our country and why China will kick our asses. Imagine a population who can’t understand how to lose a pet.

Some of us have been here for a very long time. Allowances are occasionally made for old friends.

Get over yourself, sir.

Had to put down my buddy and best friend down this October. Not fun. Dogs are perfect. Humans are not.

I'm not gonna lie. The eyes got a little moist when I read your post.

All you can do is love them, and treat them like royalty until the time comes to say goodbye.

Then repeat with all your future dogs.

“Dogs’ lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion.
There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.” – Dean Koontz

Went through this a few weeks ago.

Definitely one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. They put catheters in her legs and brought her back to the room and she thought she was going home and was all excited. Broke my heart.

Prayers for you and your family.

Been through it once about 12 years ago and it was awful. Got another one that's getting up there in years and know that day is coming sooner than later. Not looking forward to it but the one thing I fall back on other than faith is the idea that all the years of joy and companionship with my dogs far outweigh the pain of losing them, but the pain sure does suck.

Oh, so the almighty few get “allowances”. Lmao. Let me bow down to this who have been on here a long time…

That’s my whole point. Too many are using this Baird as their daily message board and not sticking to politics.

The part that infuriated me was we live way out in the country and nobody came up and knocked on the door. I have no idea how long he suffered, whether a vet could have saved him, anything

that is terrible - I'm sorry to hear that, man. I hope he didn't suffer.

I've lost many dogs and it is tough to get through but they bring so much joy and happiness to my life that I find another 1 or 2 to start all over again.

I had an Annabelle, also.

My sympathies to you.

that is so sad - we had a dog that got sedatives before we put him to sleep and the sedatives made him snore really loud and it was kind of heartbreaking. best wishes to you and all the dog families.
