We do implement social programs right now. In large part, it's been a dismal failure.
Instead of being the perceived safety net it has morphed into a generational way of life.

His best move would have been to run as an independent after his primary loss, won a 3 way race, then reinstated as a Democrat going into this current Congress. He was encouraged to do this within the Democrat party, but evidently didn't want to go that route.
She only won the Democratic primary because Crowley and his supporters didn't take her campaign seriously.
Now that she is in, I think it may just be hard to get her out. I think her district in heavily Puerto Rican.

Democratic socialists believe strongly in democracy and democratic principles. They are by no means proponents of authoritarian government systems many Americans associate socialism with. Democratic Socialist don't feel socialism should be forced on people.

It also has nothing to do with minorities. It's a simple math issue. We can't afford it. We shouldn't want to grow an already bloated fed gov. We should strive for more freedom not less.

Abortion is already Legal and it also is a Right. Additionally both Bret Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch have stated that in their opinion Roe vs Wade is 'settled law'.
