NBC. Took three seconds.

Trump reached out to shake the general's hand, and the general responded with a salute. Trump reciprocated, saluting the general back before the men shook hands.

Not Pvt but that knucklehead of a former POTUS could have remained in that region and I wouldn't have missed a beat. Disaster is no other way to describe BHO.

Bowing in Japan is when you apologize

Barry was on that tour. No one bows in Saudi Arabia

The fact that you think this is an issue shows that you don't know what either gesture means.

Did you criticise Obama for bowing?

Honestly, no. There’s plenty to criticize Obama for - that wasn’t one of them.

I know you are late to this party and everything but the conversation is about the POTUS not Japanese business men.

Go back outside and scream really loud, it will help

I would like to see the unedited video, maybe the NOKO general saluted Trump 1st? Wouldn’t surprise me if that’s what happened.

If you watch the NOKO documentary that was released that is exactly what happened. They guys saluted Trump first and he was just returning the salute.

That would 100% be in line with military protocol IF we were to consider NK friendly.

Since they are on a mission to make that so I'm not sure why anyone would take issue with it.

what the video shows is Trump returning a salute

And if Trump DIDN’T return the salute, the Demwit media and their minions would still be losing their minds. Doesn’t matter what he does, he’s wrong either way according to them.

Obama bowed first and there was no return bow.

NK officer salutes President Trump first as a sign of respect and President Trump returns salute.

Big difference.

SAIKEIREI: THE 45 TO 70° “DEEPLY REVERENT” BOW

Tourists and foreigners living in Japan will rarely have to perform a saikeire as it conveys profound respect or regret. Outside of religious uses, which we'll get to in a minute, it's almost entirely reserved for dramatic apologies or audiences with the emperor. In other words, don't break it out for just anyone.

However, if you guys cant admit that its not a good look for the POTUS to be saluting military of other countries...especially that one...then you are too biased.

i’m not former military, but have asked a few friends of mine who are.

it is a common practice to return the salute of foreign military members. even if that foreign military is not necessarily your ally.

this practice would obviously change if there was an active war going on between the two countries.

Bless your heart. I'll give you credit on the cherry picking though. You even have the word almost in the area you highlighted.
You were almost correct.

Here are some examples:
Showing respect
Expressing deep gratitude
Saying goodbye
Offering an apology
Telling someone congratulations
Expressing sympathy
Asking for a favor
Showing appreciation
Beginning a formal ceremony
Beginning a training session
When entering or leaving a martial arts dojo

Absolutely. I felt weird saluting German and Japanese officers when I was overseas. British officers seem genuinely pleased when they're saluted by Yanks, the French simply look annoyed and half-arse return the salute, and the Australians want to buy you a beer, Mate!

Some people were just searching for anything , no matter how trivial, to interpret in a ligfht most unfavorable to obama. Like the nonsensical way people misinterpreted and reacted to " you didn't build that". That shite was stoked by arch- conservatives on the internet, I think, but some of you sure picked it up and ran with it.

Civilans should never salute an officer. However bone spur is the commander in chief of the military therefore he could return the salute as he so chose. Akward and ironic but not inappropriate.
