One person I knew in church was its maintenance man. He could build or fix anything.

He was also functionally illiterate. Though there was one book he could read: his KJV Bible.

worked with the son of a billionaire who is a Harvard grad (legacy). I didn’t find him to be particularly intelligent. He’s not dumb, but definitely not elite. I would guess his IQ to be 115-120. What he IS is well connected.
You just described Donald Trump.

This article is pretty much along the same lines as his 2000 book Bobos in Paradise

Before I moved to AK I took a tour of the woods where I lived with an old black gentleman. He told me he learned to read himself by reading the bible.

I thought that dude might have no educational attainment, but has more desire and ability than most humans today.

I am trying to wrap my brain around the players in this little drama.

Are you praising Mark Lennihan, the photographer who took one picture attached to the article, but whom you seem to think is the author? or Lincoln Brown, the author of the article you quoted so extensively, but whose name you did not even mention? or David Brooks, the commentator who wrote the original op-ed piece upon which the article is based?

Bows to a different audience; racks up clicks; changes nothing personally.

Remember when MJ said "Republicans buy sneakers too"? Well, this is the modern day fake journalism version of that.

That’s a good observation, if you use your power to exploit society, you’ll end up with a very unstable society, and your rule won’t last very long*.

Societies endure when the ruling caste serves the interest of the broader population.

Their overarching value system trumps reality.

Doesn't matter if real or fake, all that matters is a conversation was started.

He would still fleece you and jail you because he hates you. He just realizes what he is now. He won't disavow that, ever.

This, Joe Rogan, Michael Moore.

Something big is going on here.

Influencers are becoming aware and it's not going to stop.

I don't know how many times it has to be said, but the Michael Moore clip was from 2016. He anticipated the rise of Trump and predicted he'd win when others laughed at him. It was a big deal at the time. But he never actually endorsed or agreed with Trump, he was against him then and he is still against him now. He's the same fatass hypocrite he always was. There is no veil being lifted for Moore.
