You're naive, low-IQ, or both if you don't think every inch of that plane was gone over and electronics completely replaced
It's only the most important and highly protected aircraft in the world. But I'm sure they missed those knock-out gas canisters in the overhead compartments and the remote access capabilities buried in the computer systems

The new plane is pretty noticeable and the only 1 of its kind that I’m aware in the AF1 fleet. Probably just decided to come back on an older version so they can use decoys since there are multiple of the old AF1 fleet that looks the same. Just being cautious I would imagine.
It’s not the livery
On that note, where the hell are the two replacements? Hasn’t Boeing been working on them for like 5 years

It's literally been explained to you multiple times in this thread.
Even in a very long post by... me?
You really are a shite-tier poster. I've spent enough of my time trying to lead a retarded horse to water

The reasons given are the exact reason why everyone mocks the idea of accepting a repainted commercial jet anyway.
It’s not functional for it’s only function

They do have manpad systems. They basically have the Chinese version of a Stinger missile. That’s what downed a few planes and choppers. I think the F15 that lead to the big rescue mission for the pilot was taken down with a Chinese version of a stinger missile.

You can if you hit it not long after takeoff. Of coarse AF1 has built in stuff to make it safer. I was just pointing out the most obvious point and letting it go at that.

Did you think that is what was going to happen.
The plane would be donated and then the US government would simply trust it?

Can’t believe it’s even a story

If Air Force one is attacked on takeoff from an international airport and joint Turkish Air Force base, Iran isn’t going to be the country im suspicious of.

I was just point out how hilariously silly that was.

This thread isn't about the gift of a plane. That's old news

I would. The Quds force has one of the longest reaches of any special operations outfit on the planet.

Which is why if some guy with a manpad that he has for reasons on a roof outside Ankara with line of sight, it’s not going to be any sort of sophisticated special operations group. It’s going to be a deliberate security failure. It’s also Turkey, not Syria or Kandahar
This isn’t a Tom Clancy novel
If they’re using the old planes, it’s for its signals and electronics advantages that the loaner plane cannot possibly have.

About a 1000% chance that Quds has people, or at least people loyal to them, in Turkey with access to MANPADS. Iran, most likely, just isn’t stupid enough to take the shot. But the Secret Service or the Air Force or whoever makes the call decided better safe than sorry and took the older AF1 with the defensive equipment.

Why? Do you not think that plane wasn't stripped down and inspected?
Every single screw, nut, and bolt?????
Meh, you probably don't. Your simple mind probably thinks they just slapped some USA stickers on it and called it good! Lol

The “donated” plane likely has the same communications equipment that the older one does. That’s a fairly easy modification. Requiring for flares and other defensive measures or re-plumbing the fuel system to allow for aerial refueling is a much longer task, which is why the “new” AF1s from Boeing are so delayed.

It very clearly didn’t get the full treatment given that the actual AF1 replacements are taking years and years to retrofit, and the POTUS is flying on the old ones because the loaner bird is just a repainted commercial plane with better comms.
