I'm sure they learned nothing with Dirty Harry changing rules mid-sream to suit his needs.

The letter is real but they still have to wait for Schiff to schedule the hearing
That will never happen
Sounds like it has to be allowed before they close the hearings, even if it's the last thing they do.
ETA: bolded the wrong part

Holy crap!!!!
That's it. That is the whole thing. Call everyone including those involved in the Ukraine assist of the DNC and the DNC. Get everyone up there and just give them ten minutes each so we can scroll through all of them.
If this is true, it really is the Democrats worst dream come true and Nancy is even more pissed off at Schiff for this massive blunder.

I would be very surprised if the Democrats acknowledged the rule

Jordan and Nunes were absolute studs during the hearings.

This is not a Senate hearing. The link applies to Senate hearings. Does the same rule apply to the HoR?
Am I missing something here?

This. Either Schiff will just ignore this and gavel out or keep the hearings in session on an indefinite break

Could they call Volodymyr Zelensky?

It’s insane to me that such an important process is allowed to be so dominated by the majority party. Seems un-American.

Schiff is abusing House rules. In both the Nixon and Clinton impeachments, both parties were allowed to call whatever witnesses they wanted. There were no restrictions like Schiff has put in place to quell testimony. No secret hearings. By all accounts, both parties were cordial during the hearings.
What schiff has done is literally unprecedented in the history of this country.

And every time Jordan and Nunes publicly ask why he’s doing that, Chairman PotatoHead will purse his lips and his eyes will bug out a little more.

The House has the same rule.
HoR Minority Witness Rule
However, Schiff can do other dirty tricks, such as schedule 20 other Democrat witnesses first, or refuse to put the Republican witnesses under oath.

This is not a Senate hearing. The link applies to Senate hearings. Does the same rule apply to the HoR?
When a House committee or subcommittee holds a hearing, the minority party members of the panel have the right to call witnesses of their choosing to testify on at least one day of that hearing. Clause 2(j)(1) of House Rule XI—known as the “minority witness rule”—states:
Whenever a hearing is conducted by a committee on a measure or matter, the minority members of the committee shall be entitled, upon request to the chairman by a majority of them before the completion of the hearing, to call witnesses selected by the minority to testify with respect to that measure or matter during at least one day of hearing thereon.
If the minority’s request to call witnesses comes after a hearing has begun, it will necessitate the continuation of the hearing on an additional day to accommodate minority witnesses.
Rule XI, however, is rarely formally invoked to request an additional day of hearing. In practice, the rule has largely served as a “backstop” that gives the minority party a procedural recourse if a committee majority refuses to invite witnesses they request. In the vast majority of hearings, the majority does invite minority witnesses after consultation and negotiation with minority members and staff. In rare instances, however, a majority of the minority party members of a House committee or subcommittee have invoked Rule XI to schedule an additional day of hearings for their witnesses.2

Fake news: "When a Senate committee"
First 4 fricking words of the rule.
ETA:"There is a corresponding House rule."
My bad. Will leave up to demonstrate my shame for not reading the entire thread before posting.
ETAA: aaaaaand its gone. I'm going back with "Fake News".

In another stunning development, Jim Jordan is invoking the even rarer "yielding all my time to kick the committee chair in the nuts" rule.

This is pathetic and this WHOLE.ENTIRE.MESS could have been avoided had the Dems been left out of power in the 2018 election. This should go to illustrate how big the consequences are from elections. None are "throw away" elections.
