I guarantee that H.R. 660 or whatever dispensed of this rule. All witnesses are subject to approval of Schiff....Thus the minority rule may apply, but witnesses are still subject to approval by Schiff.

hat appears to allow Republicans to schedule a special hearing and call any witness.

We now go directly to Adam Schiff for comment...

I would prefer you link the House rule, not the Senate rule, since, you know, this hearing is taking place in the House.

Hope the House has a similar rule. Apparently they do if Nunes is using it?

Your link is malformed, here's a clean one:

LINK

quote:

In comparison to the House of Representatives—which has a similar minority witness rule—the rules and precedents of the Senate give Senators far more individual influence over the scheduling and consideration of legislation. That, in conjunction with the tradition of comity that generally governs the chamber, means that Senators have rarely found it necessary to invoke Rule XXVI to have their views represented. Occasionally, however, a majority of the minority party members have invoked Rule XXVI to have their witnesses heard from at a hearing.3

That's a .gov site, should be legit - maybe someone can find the House version? Or does HR 660 over-ride this? Even if it does, the R's can get some mileage out of the rule changes to suit them.

Oh yeah, "the tradition of comity that generally governs the chamber" - what are they smoking?

Or is that only to select from the witnesses the D's already picked?

This is ALL on that do nothing Lemur Paul Ryan, who should be called out for not working hard to make sure the GOP kept the House.

If that Meerkat bastard had done his job, Schiff would not have that gavel. If the Republicans get it back, someone should make Schiff choke on it.

Bidens are no longer consequential. But I agree with taking them down nonetheless.

Meanwhile... ciaramella and schiff should be blindfolded TOMORROW.

(Thus, witness 1 and 2)

Holy crap!!!!

That's it. That is the whole thing. Call everyone including those involved in the Ukraine assist of the DNC and the DNC. Get everyone up there and just give them ten minutes each so we can scroll through all of them.

If this is true, it really is the Democrats worst dream come true and Nancy is even more pissed off at Schiff for this massive blunder.

I love that on the Poli board I can no longer tell which posts are intended to be satire

no, the trouble for the Biden's will come from a senate committee. Graham has been alluding to it, either that or indirectly asking for the investigation.
