But hell. What else would I expect from an idiot who extrapolated the total I gave for top 20 cities assuming the same numbers into the total for the nation at large.
It's either blinding stupidity or blinding dishonesty.

This is only one city's results. Let's not get all excited until we see how this works out for Portland!

Restaurants.

Republicans need to do a lot of research on this and use it for the 2018 election. On Fox News they said that salary employees had to pick up the hours . So not only do people makings $15 an hour have a chance of losing their job or working less hour , but salary employees could end up having to work more hours to make up for the hours the company cut from minimum wage workers. Plus prices on a lot of products will go up. Everyone will lose with a $15 minimum wage .

It's really not tremendously complicated.
Labor is a good to be purchased.
The only people harmed by rising minimum wages are people whose labor isn't as valuable as the minimum wage.
Changing the price of a good has absolutely zero effect upon the value of that good.
If the govt decided by fiat tomorrow that the minimum price for bread was $10 a pound, you would simply see fewer people buying bread and a sudden explosion in recipes designed to avoid using bread.

No comment on the rest of my post?
About how everyone above min wage will also get pay raises? Or about how the poor will work less hours (proven in this thread) and how businesses will hire fewer workers (also proven in this thread) and have the scope of their employees work expanded?
Sigh. Do yourself a favor and learn just a BASIC level of understanding of economics.

low-wage workers earned $125 per month less because of the higher wage, a small but significant decline.
Making 125 a month less is not small when you made 11 an hour at 40 hrs a week. That's roughly a 7% decline in monthly income and that impacts poor people tremendously

That's been his game in this thread.
Select out a part of your post and play stupid.
Just another liberal with nothing left but trolling.

Like I'm no genius when it comes to the inner workings of economics.. I did get a A in macro and a B in micro.. But that's as far as I went in my coursework as pertains to econ. So many people here could make me look like a fool im sure.
But holy shite euro is just..... Dumb when it comes to economics. I'm pretty sure my 11 year old sister has a better grasp on the concepts.

Another thing that gets hidden in the minimum wage discussion is cost of living increases. It obviously doesn't help people if they see a slight increase in their yearly earnings but that is being offset by a larger increase in expenses.
This is just a short term graph of the Consumer Price Index in Seattle in the past few years (updated in April) but it's worth noting that there's been a noticeable increase in the past year.
I wouldn't be surprised to see that continue over the next 12-24 months.

That's the annoying part.
He's not dumb. He's just completely willing to lie for his cause.
I would rather he was actually that stupid. But the reality is, liberals have become conditioned to being liars

Shorty, my bad. I just made an off the cuff assumption that a ton of Americans lived in the top 20 cities. Actually it's only around 10 percent or so, so the number should be one million not one hundred thousand. I made a good faith guess and guessed wrong.
I would appreciate you knocking off the insults, I don't ever recall insulting about anything at all.
Finally, there are plenty of ways you can get around a business cutting labor costs through various regulations that would save many of the jobs. Make a law that says each fast food order must be filled by no less than four people for example. Or have a law like they do (did?) in New Jersey, that you can't pump your own gas, someone has to deo that for you. Boom, New Jersey just created ten thousand low skill jons for the working man. France has many similar policies in place.

WTF? This has to be an elaborate troll. Why don't we require every soda that is poured at the movie theatre be done so by two people. One for the ice and one for the soda. Boom! We just created 20,000 low skilled jobs and the money to pay them $13 an hour will fall from the sky.

Why stop there. How about at the grocery store a law prohibiting customers from touching any groceries until they get home. That's right, several employees on each aisle at all times to retrieve a product upon a customer's request and place it in the cart (hmm maybe we should have employee cart pusher for every customer as well), another employee at the register belt to place groceries on the belt. The cashier of course. And the bagger. And an employee to put all groceries in the car. This could be millions of jobs. So what if you can't afford to buy any groceries anymore. Think of all of those new workers! Grocery stores are rich and have huge profit margins, they can afford it and won't go out of business.

That's why I didn't even respond sans clarification that he actually believes that stupidity.
