I sure hope America never has a “victory” that consists of our military being neutered, our leadership being killed off and our main source of revenue being shut off so our economy crashes. I guess the Japs won WWII by your logic.

You have to consider there is a scenario where both parties lose

If you get in a fight with your neighbor (that you started) and ultimately prevail but wind up with brain damage and a felony did you really "win" anything?

They have won. They control the straight and no amount of air power is going to solve that.

If that's the fricking deal that's a bad deal. If that deal is struck the US should take all of it's domestic O&G production of the global market and let all the nations who depend of ME oil figure it out for themselves, we'll keep our O&G and depend on no one. GET THE HELL OUTTA THERE!!!

Your solution to Iran is to nationalize the US Oil and Gas industry? Lmao ok commie

as of today many military strategists could make a solid argument that Iran has indeed won this military conflict.

Name them. Except for extreme political hacks I have seen no one and I mean no one claim Iran has one or is winning.

If you're honest you would at least acknowledge that

Trump isn't Bush or Obama. He will not drag this out for years and years.

Iran had almost 50 years to build up its military, acquire drones and missiles and work on nuclear development. It takes time to end something that has taken decades to fabricate. Maybe it takes another 6 months, or maybe a year.

Iran is very weak right now. They are doing there best to hold on. It won't last.

In the end, The US will prevail and the Iranian threat will be gone and the world will be better off.

You think the U.S. military just lets every member of the U.S. public and the entire world know their entire strategy and plan in military conflicts? You're a special kind of dumb.

the Islamic Regime survives they will not only be embolden but they will also garner more power and influence in the ME.

Before all of this, the SOH was open.

In the latest round of negotiations we offered Iran a deal by which they would share control of the SOH with Oman. Iran rejected our proposal.

Now get your mind around that. We offered them a part of something they didn't have before. And they rejected it in favor of trying to get all of something they didnt have before.

How is that anything but a Win for Iran?

Means they can still launch a missile or drone into the strait?

So if I can throw a rock in your window I control your house?

False. The US did not make this offer. You are conflating Oman's proposal and Iran's demand to have partial control.

If you throw multiple rocks and make me afraid to enter or leave my home then, yes you control the house.

Get our arse the frick out of the middle east. Best time to do this would have been 30 years ago, but the second best time to do it is RIGHT NOW.

Choices are tough, between:

Losing small. Embarrassing. Walking away with tail between our legs because we have no answers. Sunk costs are gone. Waste of money, some lives, military equipment, and political goodwill.

Losing big. Crippling. Doubling down on a bad idea. Troops on the ground. Make US troops sitting duck targets, thousands of miles from home. Guerrilla warfare tactics like Vietnam in a foreign land. Slowly bleed US money, lives, military equipment, and political goodwill at a far greater amount, over a longer period of time.

So, I assume you and your family are ready to join the military?

I for sure would advise my Grandchildren not to to join unless we are invaded.
