But not anti-slavery enough to end slavery in the north before the ratification of the 14th.

Slavery has been an accepted civilizational model since the human history record. The fact that our God-based Constitution was the FIRST Founding Governmental Document in history to assert equal value of Individual Rights above that of ANY form of societal injustice- racial, religious or ideological- bears witness to the fact that the Founders and the citizen recognized such as a Truth to be accepted. The Civil War was fought not long after to settle any disputes re that Equality Principle.
That was then and this is now. Mercy form either God/Jesus is and should be measured to those who fulfill societal, moral and or religious obligations. And that goes for those at the top of the power class and the bottom as well. Lending no mercy or ignoring righteous obligations nullifies mercy. No passes period As such leads to class warfare and “wailing and gnashing of teeth “.
Whatever we tolerate we get more of. “Where there is no vision, my people die”.

Weren't people outside cheering as it burned? Yeah...a unification center should take care of that.
The owner could afford to buy it but couldn't afford to insure it...by his own admission. Now, he wants donors to rebuild his investment?

Your last statement says it all. Democrats are RACISTS. Republicans should be screaming this from the rooftops because it is 100% fact. I live around quite a few staunch Democrats. All Democrats I know aren’t racist but every racist I know is a Democrat.

My grandmother was good friends with her, so we went to "Mrs Owens' Castle" quite a bit when I was little (before she sold). I could play in the hallway outside the area where she sold the dolls, but she knew the moment I stepped a foot onto those stairs going up.

Lincoln was a racist like most of his day but also a constitutional hating tyrant unlike those before him.

but Lincoln was a Republican.
Well for the first 3 years he and the more radical emancipation republicans were considered 'Black Republicans'. The other Republicans, war Democrats and the CUP didn't want any part of them
Then the week of July 4th 63 changed all that.

I'm guessing the wedding business is about to plummet.

Isn't Nottoway Plantation a former slave plantation. Wasn't the house and grounds a tourist attraction because of the Slave Plantation it was.
Okay, rebuild it. I mean putting a statue of Kunta Kinta out front going to make it more of a former Slave Plantation?

There is a travel board now, Polly. When did you buy a bride from overseas? AI pixie wife?

The more you read on Gettysburg the more you realize something was very off with Lee. Medical or desperation. Nothing but bad decisions and poor to often no Corp management. And Longstreet was almost driven to complete insubordination.
