LA Times. good grief. they truly want us all eating dirt in third world conditions.
Editorial: No more half measures on climate change. The next generation is right to demand an end to fossil fuels
Thousands of people are mobilizing for what could be the biggest climate march in the U.S. in years in New York City on Sunday. It's one of many protests across the globe over the next few days with a simple demand: President Biden and other world leaders must phase out fossil fuels.
You have to respect the uncompromising clarity of the March to End Fossil Fuels message: Stop approving new fossil fuel projects, phase out drilling on public lands, declare a climate emergency and provide a just transition to renewable energy.
Because you’re not seeing such a clear vision from the men and women with the power to do something about the climate crisis, only weak-kneed language and half measures.
In the run-up to the COP 28 United Nations climate summit in November in Dubai, nations are talking instead about phasing out “unabated” fossil fuel emissions. This would allow countries to keep burning oil, gas and coal as long as they also use some kind of carbon capture or removal technology to offset its effects on the atmosphere.
This kind of double-speak is revealing, because it shows how many politicians are unwilling to buck powerful fossil fuel interests. Like oil and gas companies, they want to suggest we can have it both ways and fight the climate crisis without dismantling the fossil fuel based-system that is causing it. But that sets a dangerously low bar. If we don’t at least aim for the end of fossil fuels, where do you think we’ll actually end up a generation from now?

The west will end up eating their young before it’s all over with.

This is how you say, "I am a communist", without having to use the word communist.

Big Oil is currently in the process of securing lithium deposits. As the economy transitions to more electricity and lithium becomes the standard of storing energy it's going to be kind of funny when the climate change activists demonize Big Lithium.

Until they go all-in on Nuclear as the replacement source, they can kiss my arse with their windmill and solar bullshite. Windmills and solar are great for unique applications, but cannot possibly be a 'replacement' for all heavy-duty and industrial usage.
until then they can just stfu and puar.

I’m 71 years old. Y’all listen to the LA Times and go back to the Stone Age after I pass.
Thank you

And yet, in a recent wind energy sale for the Gulf of Mexico, only one purchase was made, and current wind energy farm corporations from Europe that operate farms off the eastern seaboard are ready to pull the plug on their farms. Green energy simply is not profitable without the help of government subsidies.

Speaking of the third world, India is producing motorcycles that retail for 4K at US dealerships to give you a point of reference to their affordability. They are the most purchased motorcycles in the world by far, very dependable, air cooled, have 3 year unlimited mile warranties, get literally 100 miles to the gallon, cruise at highway speeds, and can easily be worked on by yourself at home, AND fully compliant with the very latest in stringent EU regulations on emissions. What’s Europe’s response to this? They want to ban it along with all other ICE vehicles of any kind, and you can be double dog sure that this very same mentality is sure to be making it’s rounds here in the states as well. This article proves that it’s their intentions.
ALL OF THIS to illustrate I suppose that radicals do not concern themselves with you getting around, or how much that will cost people, and whether they can even afford it or not, or get to work to make a living and feed your family. ALL they care about are their radical nut ball agendas, and whatever it costs you, that’s just what it is, and people who buy into the environmental hysteria, and then vote for these radicals are only causing their own demise.

oh they are serious arent they, a meeting in the desert to discuss the burning of fossil fuel, in a cavernous air conditioned convention center.
Perhaps if the UN zoomed meetings we could take these clowns serious, otherwise its just a guise to control the people, along with racial tensions, stirring up wars, and inventing viruses they have to cure.

….and we all know that addressing “climate change” is not even the goal. Just the means to an end.

Most of these idiots have no clue that "fuels" are only part of the Oil and Gas business.
They are uneducated, useful idiots.

The elites intend to exempt themselves and their delusional fellow travellers somehow believe that they're going to be among those elite.

The lack of infrastructure for going to electric cars is not even addressed by anybody on that side. Nobody address the mining and processing of lithium with the destruction of land, toxins, energy used during processing, and the labor conditions.
You know it is a scam when none of it is addressed.
