It was, until we elected Donald J. Trump to take over for an invalid and a drunk whore. If the establishment doesn't start WW3 before January 20th, Nissan will recover. They might ought to ditch their plans to convert to an all-EV fleet as well, to speed up the recovery.

I wonder what GeoCorp will save them?

Will Infiniti go under as well?
As Infiniti is simply a brand (the luxury brand of Nissan), if Nissan were to cease to exist, Infiniti would do likewise.

Oddly enough, GM, Subaru, Honda, and Toyota are doing okay in this market. Meaning that they are earning something and are keeping the lights on, trimming some fat where it exists. They aren’t making cash hand over fist but they are okay.
Stellantis and Nissan are hemorrhaging cash. Not sure if Nissan survives without a major restructuring. And IMO Stellantis needs to sell Jeep, Ram, and Chrysler if they can’t manage them properly. Both of these companies are trimming a lot more than just the fat….they are laying off entire teams and severely limiting their ability to respond to market trends in the future.
Jaguar is gone and won’t be back as a real luxury player. Looks like they don’t even want to come back.
Mitsubishi is still not making it work in the US. They make the cheapest cars available in many markets. They should be more popular.
Hyundai/Kia/Genesis are surviving. They are paying the bills by selling cars to people that used to buy Nissans.
Ford is struggling but they’ll make it on trucks.
Tesla is seeing some headwinds but they’ve already cut a lot of costs and have a bright future unless credit markets freeze.
Mazda is kicking arse but they also have no cash. If we go into a recession they are going to struggle.
IDK about the higher end Germans. I know Mercedes is trimming model lines especially coupes and convertibles.

What did they think was gonna happen with how bad prices are?

This sucks because this will take Infiniti with it and their vehicles are great.
Unfortunately, they are abandoning sedans snd going all SUV. No Q50s after 25 model year.

BMW has over 300 days supply of 5 series currently.
The European economy is going in the shitter so will be interesting to see where things go.
Some others I recall;
F150- 150 day supply
Silverado- 100 days
Sierra- 110 days
60 days is generally considered ideal.

240 for me though please.

That’s higher than I thought, but generally full sized trucks are stocked at higher levels of inventory.
Still….150 days worth of F-150s….yikes.
Pickups are not luxury vehicles but they are priced like them. The people who buy them are price sensitive. Configuring them over $55,000 right now is actually quite easy. What this tells me is that GM is doing a better job building the trim levels that people want than Ford is at the moment. But there is clearly trouble brewing.

Over a year’s worth of Grand Wagoneers.
That’s mind blowing. They could literally stop building them now and the dealers would have inventory for a year at the rate people buy them.
I bet cancelling the HEMI was another contributing factor too.

They ruined the Pathfinder and killed the Xterra. Shame on Nissan.

Current Pathfinder is better. Their 2013-2021 design was terrible

I had a 240 and 260Zippy. I traded the 260 for a pearl white Toyota Cressida when the family started. I've been loyal to Toyota/Lexus since.

All of their vehicles suck, except the Z and the GTR - both unprofitable low volume vehicles.
All their cars and small and mid size SUVs are powered by crappy CVTs, and their trucks suck too. They are all unreliable and uninspiring to drive. And if you want that, you can get it in a Kia for less cost.
I don’t think this is a harbinger of what is to come, but rather a issue of a company that makes vehicles no one wants.

If Nissan goes I assume Infinity goes. In July Nissan had 76 days of inventory. Infinity had 66. Toyota for comparison, was at 29. Buick was at 80 so Nissan is just better than Buick.
When it was real bad Mercedes was at +100. Toyota was the best and dodge the worst at like 137 or something.

How about install transmissions that don't need to be replaced after 100k miles.

Car dealers were straight up assholes during COVID with their jacking up prices. I have had 5 Infinitis over the years and my lease was up in August but because of various customer service issues, I did not get another. During COVID, my wife wanted the Infiniti medium sized SUV and they took over a year and could not get one.
So she decides to get a Nissan Pathfinder and agrees on a price in writing and I go in later that day to sign the paperwork and they try to raise the price 5K over sticker. Needless to say it was not a pleasant conversation. frick Nissan and I was a loyal customer for 30 years between Nissan and Infiniti.
