Not only was the Governor of Sinaloa indicted but also 9 other government officials. Including the current Deputy Attorney General of Sinaloa and a current Senator.

quote:

This legal assault by the DOJ decapitates the political leadership of one of Mexico’s most strategically sensitive states at a moment of extreme national fragility. By targeting a sitting governor, the U.S. is signaling a total collapse of bilateral trust and an end to the era of diplomatic shielding for Mexican officials. The move is designed to force a confrontation within the Sheinbaum administration, leaving Mexico City with zero room to maneuver between its domestic political alliances and the threat of total diplomatic isolation.

The fallout will be immediate and chaotic. Beyond the legal proceedings, these indictments serve as a precursor to broader sanctions and a likely reclassification of Mexican security cooperation. For the Mexican government, the era of managed stability in Sinaloa is over; Sheinabum is now facing a direct challenge to state legitimacy and a physical security vacuum that will likely trigger a violent internal restructuring of cartel hierarchies and government control.

It’s a true narco state down there but I do sympathize with them because if you don’t go along with the cartel you’re just dead.

Hard to feel good about punishing people doing things while staring down the barrel of a gun, but if this happens in conjunction with attacking the demand issue domestically and fractures the cartels position down there it’s a good thing.

It was like that in Colombia. Until it wasn’t. Gotta break a few eggs.

Trump has stared down three barrels.

Same thing is actually happening, here.

That's an amazing thing to type out. THey are openly wishing for someone to hurt him. It's plain crazy.

Their corruption is downstream of our globalists and deep state agents.

In fact just watch narcos and it’s clear we put most of them in place originally.

We still need to address our demand issues for a boatload of reasons, but to be clear I’m in favor of putting them on their heels as long as it’s part of a wider effort to fix the degradation of our cities and rural areas.

No problem.

If this violence materializes, it will likely affect the US and Canada too.

Sinaloa controls the fentanyl smuggling and human trafficking on the Canadian border also.

When these cartels implode, they do so in a big way.

There is no doubt that the cartels own judicial and law enforcement assets in the US, …. through bribery, extortion, or threat.

The cartels are using the Medellin playbook ….

Will see if Sheinbaum is a cartel puppet or a true leader. Brilliant way of putting her on the spot by Trump and this wouldn't be possible under Bondi

Agreed, but I'm not sure how to begin to effectively address demand issues. The inner cities is mostly a cultural problem and particularly in the black communities.
High crime, high availability, few opportunities, no positive leadership, etc. I do know if fewer drugs are available, it drives prices higher.

Also, we need to make a serious effort to bring to justice law enforcement and government folks participating in the drug trade on the US side of the border.

Sounds like one or more of the big fish that have already been caught flipped. The problem is that if you are helping to lead a cartel faction, what bigger fish can you flip on?

What about the whole government in the region is all in my pocket and I have means to prove it? Yeah, that will get you the chance to see daylight some day….

Which is why the political class never touches it because it’s like your doctor telling you to eat better and work out more, people don’t want to put in the work.

But ultimately there are tons of things that can be done IMO:
-drug use is down stream statistically from hopelessness, the economy at a local level and broken families
-we need to bring back good jobs that provide a middle class standard of life so people have something to build on
-we need to rebuild nuclear families which is down stream from affordability, but also speaks to cultural issues like feminism and the collapse of the dating situation for young Americans due to various factors including affordability and the political divide.

Should Mexico not cooperate then Trump will take military action and he justified in doing so.

Possibly, how do you see that playing out?

Personally I’m not sure it fixes the fentanyl problem but might improve it, but the real objective to me would be decoupling Mexico from the globalists and Chinese.
