To be fair this isnt because they went woke
They made some god awful fundamental business decisions over last decade that allowed competitors to gain market share

They basically invented the “outsource to China” model. In hindsight they’re a big reason China isn’t still poor farmers.

I have three teenagers who play several different sports. I have enforced a no-Nike rule their entire lives. Been pretty challenging some years to get them shoes for basketball, football, track, etc. plus just the sneakers they wear for school but we stuck to the rule and I'm glad we did. I absolutely hate Nike for their woke politics.

Who would’ve thought hitching your wagon to a mullato retard would be bad for business?

All those competitors existed previously when Nike was on top. What do you think changed?
IIRC there was a poster a while back that detailed how Nike made several poor business decisions that gave up tons of floor room space in stores. They were dominating shelves & sucked all the air out of the room for competitors.
Once they lost it, their competitors started flourishing, as alternative brands were now visible & equal/better quality & pricing. At this point it's too late to get back to that level of dominance.

don’t buy Nike because of their slave labor practices.
This is the correct answer and predates all their woke shenanigans.

Looks like the trans-pretender that broke Bud Light.
Can't think of his name and too tired to look him up.
Edit: but "what the frick" is a pretty common reaction to just about anything this jester does.

While domestic profits of Nike products are stagnant at just over $20b/y - Nike's main source of revenue is in international sales, but that ratio is changing rapidly. Non-US sectors have seen a significant decline in profit in just the last two years. This is largely due to tariff wars and other countries reduced enthusiasm for American brands. This fiscal year, it is predicted that domestic sales will overtake international for the first time since the 1990s.
Example - Five years ago China was like 25% of all Nike sales. Now it's like 12%. There has been a 60% decline in sales since Nike's main partner - The NBA - has been blocked by the Chinese government.
So - yes, domestic growth has not followed consumer trends the last couple years, but I think this is more an indicator of how American brands are seen overseas.

S&P is still littered with woke companies with all time high valuations and stock prices

Bad business plan. They scaled back their presence in the retail end and began to focus on more direct to consumer strategy which gave an opening to new competitors like Hoka and Brooks on the shoe end and Brands like Vuori and others on the apparel end. Plus they are taking a beating in the Chinese market as China has launched their own brands domestically

Nike is working on a new shoe to turn it all around.
The Lindsay Clancy sneaker. Or just LCs

Screw Nike and screw ESPN.

I think this is more about: Lululemon, Vuori, Fabletics, Athleta, etc. for clothes. Hoka, Brooks, On Clouds, Saucony, Asics, Adidas, Altra for running shoes.
This is a good point but misses the full picture imo. Nike banked a lot on their brand and the woke shite to carry them. They neglected many areas/markets as a result.
When the economy isn’t great, people are going to be more stingy with their spending and brand/culture based items will suffer more.

Adidas, Deckers, and New Balance have probably benefited the most from this. They all have dedicated DEI departments.
