The Students Left Behind by Remote Learning

NO frickING shite

They all claim to care about inequality and racism...but then they order up absurd school shutdowns that are going to set already-disadvantaged groups back severely.

And, no doubt, the solution is to vote for more of the same!

Also, I wonder what all this mask wearing and "cleanliness" is going to do to their immune systems moving forward.

I have seen several articles about a variety of topics from MSM sources in the last few weeks that downright made common sense. Is the market of media correcting itself?

I'm personally incredulous that this article is written from an incredulous vantage point. It's the most predictable thing in the world - and now it's breathless "news".

And I guarantee that all of this was understood going into the BS lockdowns/restrictions. A lot of us predicted pretty much the whole shitshow. Wasn't hard to see coming.

The COVID faux-crisis and all it involved will go down as the most cynical, most obscene and most costly action perpetrated by those in charge on those that pay the bills.

The teachers (unions) piss me off the most. All we ever hear is how noble, important and overworked the profession is. Then the virus hits. Well, grocery store workers and doctors/nurses/etc. continued to work every day - even when we knew WAY less than we know now.

Fast forward 6 months and all we need is for these teachers to ONE TIME step up and be who they say they are. Instead, they show their arse and dump body bags on the courthouse steps. frick 'em.

Good article.

The teachers union’s absolutely just tone deaf.

And the teachers who believed in fear just surrendered their “heroes” card for at least a decade. “I have a lot less anxiety when I don’t have to go to work.” Yeah? frick every one of them.

Think this virus isn’t political? The correlation between in person school and voting for Trump is the highest correlation. Or probably more aptly put: the correlation between a lockdown and Trump Derangement syndrome is sky high.

Some have been going into work this entire time. No emergency pay, no hazard pay, just showing up every day getting the job done with zero crying to the media. My eyes hurt from all of the the past 6 months.

Is it just me or has the covid scare ramped up in the media the past week?

I teach in a high school that has been doing very structured virtual education this year so far.

Very structured in that the kids and teachers are on the screen live for 6 hours a day.

I personally have been a proponent for returning to in person school which our district has announced will begin the Thursday after the election.

I know several teachers that favor virtual over in person not because it is safer but rather it is easier.

The number one reason cited for being easier is the lack of discipline problems. If a kid is causing problems in the virtual setting we can mute them and turn off their camera.

I have been disappointed in teacher's unions and many of my fellow teachers as well during the pandemic.

I also have kids and their education is suffering.

I’ve been saying this from the beginning.

There was no way kids struggling to keep Cs & Ds in school we’re going to keep up in a virtual setting unless they were just given passing grades but then they’re not learning anything.
School was the most stable thing in many of their lives and it just got ripped away from them.

There is a video of a kid starting kindergarten on his pc. Kid is just bawling, and mother is heartbroken.

Kid just wants to play with all the other kids.

Let me guess.. NY needs ANOTHER TAX now remedy the disproportionate education children are getting from the imposed remote learning?

'cause money fixes everything... or at least buries poor decisions with new 'programs'

Because it’s all about feelings. Not actually results.

What’s killing me is the quarantine restrictions being put on kids at school are not anywhere close to a mirror image of the real world. The majority of people in the real world are over the Rona scare and it shows in the stores and at ball fields and gyms. At least in my neck of the woods .

They change their opinion depending upon the direction of the wind. Classic Moral Relativism. Looneytunes all of them.

It’s honestly a shame these kids are paid more attention to, and it’s solely because of politics. Stories pulling at heart strings, calling for action, is what has set the US apart from the rest of the world. When there is a need, we meet it.

Instead, because of political optics, these kids are not mentioned or cared for on a grand scale.

This should be front page news every day until these kids are allowed to go back to school.
