Why would anyone (other than her husband I guess) support false accusations with zero factual basis?

All of the depositions simply say that Ford told them about it at some point.

This is the definition of hearsay.

It's important to note that none of these Witnesses actually witnessed anything, but allegedly hearing about the incident much later from Miss Ford.... inadmissible in a court of law... an attempt to buttress

The “corroboration” isn’t even in the form of people who can independently verify the allegations. It’s from people who in the last few years recall Ford having mentioned something about this to them. Why couldn’t she point these people out immediately?

Yep, Dems hear anything which could potentially be negative about Trump or anyone associated with Trump, and they say it to everyone as if it was the unvarnished truth.

1)Because it scores them political points with the Dem establishment for favors at a later date.

2)Because it can't be proven false as she (Ford) is the only one that could call them out and claim they are lying.

This is a very low risk ploy for the people giving statements.

They give this airtime but ignore the people alleged to have been there denying it? Makes sense

And nominee Kavanaugh said nothing happened before God and His universe. She is outnumbered and I believe him, where do I sign the form?

Either Ms. Ford or her husband is LYING.

According to Ms. Ford, she never told anyone about the alleged incident until the therapy session in 2012.

In his sworn statement, Mr. Ford says he was told about the alleged incident shortly after they were married.

So, who's lying? I'll give y'all a hint:

It's both of them.

This is beyond absurd.

So if I tell 4 people a lie that makes the lie true?

It’s ridiculous.

They technically are not supporting it. They are just saying that they heard Ford say that this all happened. Which is complete nonsense. And the fact that this is reported at all much less championed as proof of anything tells me what I already feared. We are too far gone. This path has one end: war.

Obviously these statements can’t be used to show that the allegations are true. But they do have something to say about the credibility of the person making the allegations. Ford now has evidence she didn’t invent the allegation after the nomination.

Actually no.

The point of this is to refute the criticism that this was all made up just to derail this confirmation. If she told others about it years ago, at a time when there was no potential Supreme Court nomination, then the argument that she just made it up now is undermined. So the relevance is not whether the statement was true, just that the statement was made at a time when this nomination was not possibly known.

These are simple statements by family members and close friends and not formal “depositions” such as taken in a legal proceeding or government investigation.

They really corroborate nothing.
