Gotsta wonder how many pedos called moving companies to inquire about one way moving cost to New Mexico so far today.

Wrong emoji, you should be using the laughing one.

Why? Because this program will go the exact same way every large-scale attempt at some extravagant UBI has gone: within a couple of years the state will have to scale back (and then possibly shut down) the program due to "unexpected cost over-runs" (or similar jargon) as not only will people work to defraud it of as much money as possible, but it will attract others from other states who will want to get in on the action as well.

The taxpayers there will either learn or pay for their stupidity.

Do you or your wife make so much money that it's worthwhile?!?! Plus the other expenses associated with going to work (clothing, gas, food, more car maintenance, etc.)? And having someone else raise your children? And missing out on non-repeatable moments with your kids?

We decided for my kids mom to stay home for their first year and see how it goes. We were younger and she had just started her career and I wasnt that far along with mine. We barely scraped by with the essentials, had one car, never went out and incurred some debt. It simply would not have been sustainable for one of us not to work until they were school age. After day care and associated work expenses (2nd car things you mentioned) what was left over was about 1000.00, but we absolutely needed that extra income and she needed to be working in her field to gain experience. This is the reality for most young people today. We dont regret that decision one bit. Both of our kids are A+ students and are still friends with some of kids from that time in their lives. Most of the kids in the neighbor hood went to the same day care so it felt like a community.

Free ? So, all volunteer workers and donated supplies? Wow, they sure have a strong sense of community in NM.

Good. Maybe the liberal free loaders in Texas will move to NM.

Yeah, 'cause nothing that happens in another state EVER spreads to other states!

Can they do it?!?! Obviously, yes. Are they complete imbeciles for having done it?!?! Absolutely.

Think big picture and don't twist words!

Explaine why? MY mom was stay at home and she still sent me to Pre K part time at a church day care b/c she wanted to give me a head start, get a little of the gospel daily and socialize with my peers. There are terrible daycares and very good ones.

You are talking apples and oranges. There is NO comparison between little church-run day care centers staffed by parishioners or people well known to everyone, and large state-run and funded centers with poorly vetted staff and full time students.

I'm fine with that as long as NM pays for it which honestly, they won't be able to over time. They are one of the poorest states in the country.

This tax money isnt for the building of more public pre-k or younger classrooms. The parents can send their kids where they want and they are reimbursed. And even if they were you are assuming a public school pre-k has poorly vetted staff. Like any public school system....some are poorly run others are excellent. This gives struggling parents, particularly young folks another option that may or may not be the best option depending on the quality of the school or daycares in their area.

Working people will not qualify because they make to much money. Book it. Even if not initially. After this gets out of hand they will start restrictions.

Just like in Canada with their socialized medicine, the poor and middle class now don't get health care because they can't afford to come to the USA and pay out of pocket for it. Instead they must endure whatever their medical condition is for years before they can get it fixed.

Enjoy!

Vote accordingly, ma'am.

You either want a state to determine what is best for the education of its children with minimal Federal intervention, or you don't.
