Something is afoot, here.
It will allow them to protest in the streets easier. Or allow carjacking. You’ll see the predictive programming in the news soon.
There’s a reason California chooses stupid, more often than not.

You’re telling me that the California government, which that no longer enforces shoplifting and other theft was ticketing jaywalkers?
California is lost

Well driving in California just got much more hazardous

Seriously...anyone going to visit CA is really asking for it at this point. You will put yourself in legal roulette with this uncommon sense laws.
Freaking nutcases out there.

To add....I'm starting to think that conservative states need to take an idea from VA. Create a law that will outlaw CA (and other liberal states) laws, like VA did to match CAs global warming laws.
Could be the only way to help conservative states from having people from those states bringing their crazy with them.

You had trolleys, pedestrians, horse carriages, baby stro!!ers, all intermingled and going down and across the street together. But shocked safe woke California would be the first to say, jaywalking is a bullshite offense.
Exactly. I'm no proponent of this condensed urbanization, anti-suburban nonsense being pushed extensively as of late, but any area where a pedestrian would be given a jaywalking ticket is the exact type of place where the pedestrian should be able to walk freely provided they aren't literally darting out in front of oncoming traffic.

The frick? It was basically legal to shoplift shite if ya kept it under $800 or $900... but they were still handing out tickets for jaywalking?

The plan is to break down EVERY semblance of societal rules and have no accountability for anything. That is right out of the Alinski playbook. Complete breakdown of Western society, then communist rule to restore order.

More shite from the 90s making a comeback.
Bill Hicks’ routine on the LA Riots discussed the “pedestrian right of way” law, which is similar to this, and suggested that the reason Reginald Denny got the living frick knocked out of him was that he was too scared to run over the rioters because of that law.

That would imply using a crosswalk.

And Mexico
When I went to San Diego we had hotel employee (coincidentally he was mexican) tell us not to drive south of the border. People will rear end you, or walk in front of you and then either jack you or sue you- simply because you were american

Doesn't help that in some areas here in Metro Atlanta, you could walk for miles without a "legal" crossing being available.
And I guarantee you everyone posting in this thread has "committed" jaywalking and didn't think twice about it.

So, now when they run out of a store with shoplifted loot in hand, they no longer need to wait at an intersection before crossing.

Jaywalking is stupid.
But what’s more stupid is calling it racist.

Jaywalking is being too fricking lazy to walk 100 feet to the crosswalk. It’s being too impatient to wait for a light.
So now, drivers no longer have the benefit of expecting pedestrians at intersections and marked crosswalks. Seems safe.
I drove past a jaywalker incident in Alpharetta a few years back. Moron decided to cross in front of the bus and stepped into traffic and was smeared on the asphalt for 200 feet.

We continue to lower standards because of these people. It's a joke. What does being poor or black have to do with crossing the street where you are supposed to?

Sounds good. Just don’t sue when you get plowed over
