I used to think I lost mine in a lake accident, but, turns out, they were stolen by all the liberals in my neighborhood and apparently, those stupid fricks then lost them.

At least that's my story.

The hide under your desk method for a nuclear bomb was interesting. I guess it could possibly prevent you from getting killed initially if you weren’t inside the zone that gets vaporized instantly.

You would still get radiation poisoning though.

People needed to feel like they were in control so our government did a lot of touchy-feely propaganda during the Cold War to let everybody know, "We're looking out for you America!"

So, to tell America that we were doing everything possible for ourselves, a lot of nonsensical things were done to make people feel better. No one will survive a nearby nuclear blast by hiding under a desk in anything but the most rarest of cases. That didn't matter to the Eisenhower and Kennedy administrations, what they wanted was for people to feel they had some sense of control because then they would be less likely to panic/riot. They tripped over themselves looking for ways to make people feel better even while none of it made any logical sense.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Deep State tried something like this to get rid of Trump.

Get rid of Trump? An event like this would lead to Martial Law being implemented which would only give Trump more power

I have a water source close enough, and the only reason I've allowed my wife to bring home so many animals is because I'm hedging my bets. My wife and daughter might starve but me and the boys will be alright.

Basically 3 power grids in United States, I'm guessing the East Coast grid which Louisiana is a part of would be a target, correct?

prep like a hurricane. I remember the last hurricane someone bent the workshop door to steal fuel for their generator as I was evaced. and I live in BFE in the woods...

the first people to die will be the people posting their facebook status of putting their head between their arse to kiss it goodbye.

of course we will all be able to post here because of the money for the gold membership chicken collected to feed the hamsters and fred his fruity pebbles.

I mean if you need more than a couple weeks of stuff than you better be in a underground bunker to avoid the mob coming after you. Than you figure no power at nuclear power plants pretty much KO everything anyway

That would be my highest concern. I do live in a small town (considered a mans town, I might add) in north Florida. It's a very close nit community with organization. Problem is, there are over 21 million people in this state. I would imagine the majority having no survival skills, that would need to get out that will have no place to escape to but north, considering Florida is a peninsula.

Starving hordes of people that don't know they can sustain themselves to an extent on palmetto bulbs, swamp cabbage etc. will undoubtedly resort to their primal instincts for survival. Could happen?

Some estimates have it as high as 90% if nationwide... six months is a long time to do without power, transportation, medical, etc...

I’m pretty sure at least 30% of Americans could survive off their fat cells alone for 6 months

Absolutely. People stampede and kill others over discounts on washcloths and toasters on black friday. Something like this would cause an ELE.

Black Friday at the WalMark is a very dangerous place to be.
